That mural one is certainly interesting. The hole is pretty much where the jockey's tear is located in Alien, just extended a bit more.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 2:45 AMNevermind, when you blow it up to giant size it clearly looks like it is morphing. Probably what one of the characters were eluding to in the dialog in the trailer.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 2:49 AMEpic, especially this:

This is definitely God

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 2:56 AMFollowing the literal description of Prometheus, that is where his liver would be.
There looks to be soem sort of creature to the left, hunched over its knees.

Shane
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 2:58 AMyeah but when you blow it up it looks to be reshaping itself. I think they choose that still very carefully to invoke both the wound on the jockey from the original, and the story of prometheus.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:07 AMI Adjusted the contrast a bit so its slightly more clear -

The thing to the bottom left looks like some kind of creature.
FULL SIZE -

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:11 AMTo me this echoes the pictogram on the wall in the cave on the Isle of Skye. There's that creature that looks like a hog or something. You can see the snout and the ribcage.
On this shot, you can also see a ribcage.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:12 AMI'm not sure about this, I could be wrong, but I think something is moving in the center of the Derelict (seems to be walking). It looks like a humanoid figure, Did David or the Space Jockey?

At the same time seems to have three figures like eggs on the underside of the center of the ship. (in the same room of the figure walking)

Shane
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:18 AMThe movement is the red and yellow dots from one of the trailers. You can find stills of it pretty easy.
Red is the tracking balls [I figure] Yellow have letters over them so i suspect they are the crew.

Ethon the Ripper
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:21 AMWell, the creature of the mural appears to be the guy we've seen giant in both trailers and probably as large statue head is another of his performances (the Space Jockey / Engineer)

Ethon the Ripper
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:23 AMYes, it is more likely to be the crew inside the ship.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:24 AM@WhyDontTheyFreezeHim
Thanks for illuminating that. With the added detail, it almost looks as if the humanoid is reaching out to grasp the top of the head of some alien form. It's sort of like a twisted version of God and David touching fingertips on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:35 AMThis is what Im seeing(excuse crappy paint skills!) -

It looks to me like the creature is crouching in a xeno kind of way -
His mouth kinda looks like little tentacles.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:39 AMHoly crap! @WhyDontTheyFreezeHim You're right, there is a sort of creature / monster or something.
Thanks for clarifying

Outlander
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:43 AMYeah. Exactly. Do you remember the quotes comparing this to The Thing?
The humanoid also appears to be dominating the other creature.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:47 AMThe very first image with the spaceship, i don't know where it is, but the background is similar to the nazca lines

Ethon the Ripper
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 3:54 AMYeah, definitely the Engineer of the mural is dominating some kind of beast.
@ShinobiX9X The Nazca Lines are the roads or airstrips. In fact, the Prometheus lands on one of them and then APC vehicles drive on these roads.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 4:02 AMthat article tells a lot of "spoilers" some ppl will not watnt o read it
that image on the ceiling, the liver part looks more like it's an old broken painting, and i kind of see a "human" with his pet, (whatever that pet might be)

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 4:31 AM
It definitely looks to be designed by Carlos Huante.
Looks more like Giger to me, especially the pet thing.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 4:32 AMthe creature that lies beneath the man on the left is really strange..
seems that it is sticking something into the humans leg...
strange, too, the humans arm is morphed into the head of the creature?

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 4:42 AMYes, I cannot really tell where the arm/hand ends and the head (if there is a head!) begins.
Rather than sticking something in the leg of the humanoid being, it seems to me that it has spikes on its elbows (look at the right arm, there's a similar spike, they are also seen in the red outline above).
The original Giger's alien has similar spikes protruding from its elbows.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 4:47 AMThis whole scene could perhaps show a continually changing 'informational mural' with many different images morphing over each other.
We see a brief moment of it in the trailers, and it does indeed remind me of the 'Sistine Chapel' ceiling painting...from HELL!

Ethon the Ripper
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 4:53 AMlook at the arms of the criature of the mural, elbow appears to have a kind of thorn or spur like the classic Xenomorph.

PS: I know it's not a Xeno but it sure has some similar characteristics. On the other hand as pointed out by @ Sigismund, like a painting of God and Adam, or maybe Frankenstein and his creation: "The Monster" (an ancestor of the Xenomorph)

Kronik
MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 5:07 AMI agree, pretty much the same creature as on the Sky cave painting:

Just to the left of the tall guy... seems subservient to the humanoid.

MemberOvomorphApr-11-2012 5:29 AMThe giant head is probably inspired by this illustration done by a French artist Gustave Dore depicting Satan in his icy prison:
