I'm really not digging the whole time travel aspect at all. Future humans living in the past. Not in Alien please.

i HAVE BEEN LOOKIN' AT THIS WHOLE THING THE OTHER WAY, ASSUMING THAT "THEY" ARE THE GODS! WHAT MANKIND MISTOOK FOR "GODS" ANYWAYS !

Look at the Star Chart scenes in the movie i.e the Cave Painting and the other ones found in other ancient civilisations. Many of these Civilisations beleaved in Gods not a single God, but Gods as in more than one creator. These was a race of beings who looked Human but stood twice as tall as man. They created us and tought us many things and they came from the Stars. Maybe the earliest civilisation was the Sumarian, they beleaved in creator gods called the Anunaki. This movie i beleave is trying to go the theme that the Anunaki/Titans are indeed the Space Jockey Race.

Also maybe that scene near the Water Fall is set at the dawn of time for Mankind. This guy could be the Prometheus, he created us without the permision of the other Engineers/Gods and was punished for this. Thousands of years latter after all Engineers left Earth and left mankind to defend for itself. Mankind finds the home of these Gods following a Star Chart shown to Mankind by the punished and dying Prometheus. surfice to say that the creation of a race created in their image with their Bioforming Technology without their permision was bad enough. When that said creation by one of their kind, finally turns up on their door step and starts to mess about with and steal their Bioforming/Teraforming Technology the remaining Gods/Engineers think that enough is enough and that the punishment of our creator for our creation without consent was not enough and that now their Brothers Creation must also be punished. Thats maybe whats going on, but i could be wrong.
