I highly doubt it will be that straightforward. The blue guys and the SJs may be two different races. And a lot of people are convinced that there is some crazy creature we haven't seen yet. I think the SJs are a genetic mix of the humanoids and the creature in the mural. Additionally, Prometheus may not be a human from earth. Have you seen the mural? In the mural, it appears a humanoid creature (maybe one of the blue guys) is Prometheus.

if the sj's represent the titan prometheus, if humans get the proverbial fire from them, and I think peter weyland is the recipient, maybe accidentally by transmission on one of his other projects...I think his stolen technology is how he becomes so successful.....anyway, I think the sj's represent the greek prometheus who steal fire, I think the humans are still the humans, but I suspect that there is a race superior to the sj's....maybe in that never before seen ship (saucer like) in the beginning of the full length trailer right after the waterfall shot.....in other words, I think a new tier in the hierarchy will be revealed and that may be the new mystery to be solved...who are they??

@cursum I don't think Peter Weyland will recieve "the fire." This movie is about the origins of the human race. I think things will play out in a much more cosmic way. Given all the ancient alien theory in Ridley's interviews and the discussions of theory about the origins of mankind that moves away from Darwinism, I think Prometheus will have intervened in the evolution of man. I also think the SJs and the blue humanoids are not the same race.

actually, if I may, I think it's about the origins of the Space Jockey Race first and foremost.

@Spartacus Not sure I agree. He has said this movie is basically about the origin's of mankind numerous times. Even the tagline references our origins. I think it will obviously be intertwined with the SJs and blue guys, if they're not the same race. I think if there's as sequel it will be more focused on the other species.

I still dont get this SJ and Blue Guy not being same race.... Ridley has said that the Pilot was a some kind of suit, its been hinted again that the head is some kind of helmet. If the end of this movie links to Aliens then how do we explain the scene of the Blue Guy activating the Chair and then walking over to it, and on the chair you can see a helmet, in the other scene the helmet is on the Blue Guy and he gets strapped/attached to the chair. If this movie links to Alien, then that would sugest that something happens to the Blue Guy and he does not sit in the chair but then some other larger creature that we not seen in the movie sits on the chair instead? Nope i dont buy that... I would think that the Squid Baby attaches to the Blueguy/Space Jockey to make the first Xeno. Maybe there is some higher race/Gods as whats the explanation for the Flying Saucer. But i beleave the Derelict Ship, the Temples was built by the Blue Guys who also are the Space Jockeys and the Space Jockey in Alien is just a Space Suit.

You need to look at the simularities... Those Ancient Civilisations Gods who created us apear just as Humans but standing double our height. The Statue Head Looks Human and looks like the Blue Guy, the Blue Guy looks Human but nearly double our height. Ancient Gods/Anunaki = Blue Guy/Space Jockey i would put money on it ;)

Yes, I think they are 2 different species. In the original Alien movie, it was established that the SJ was a giant, elephant-trunk looking creature. Yet, in the temple scene, the giant carving of a head is fully humanoid. I think the Engineers develop the DNA and the means to terraforming and seeding planets. The SJs probably carry out the plan. Earth and humans were genetically engineered. The wiggling, worm-like creature is either a bio-morph that enters the host and rearranges the DNA or it carries new DNA to be used in the host to synthesize a new life form. Either way, the humans screw things up in a bad way and the worm is probably going to synthesize the Xenomorph from humans. Are the Engineers benign or malevolent. Great question and the movie will answer that. There is probably some sort of ironic twist that will catch us off guard, like we are the Engineers - except it's a future or past self of us. It'll have a Bladerunner like ending where Roy, the killer, saves Deckard's life in the "death scene". I also think that the derelict craft from the orignal Alien movie is the craft in this movie. The opening scene of the new trailer with the human looking at the hand with the strange markings is either Shaw or Holloway. The infection from the worm is transforming them, but what planet are they on? Is it primoridial Earth or another planet, which the Engineers are terraforming and seeding it with the infected humans. I'm going to see this movie many times when it comes out.
