That might be the 'chest burster' scene that RS hinted at that would make the dinner scene from Alien seem tame by comparison. Imagine her determination/desperation to kill the alien life form inside her that she's willing to terminate the hybrid alien/unborn child to do it.
'Course if that was the case then I suspect that Shaw didn't know she was with child to begin with.

Prometheus_II, you mean that bedroom scene is before they leave for their mission, right? I don't think that's possible. In that scene she looks all bruised (if it's before they leave Earth for their mission, so why is she all bruised?) and so on, and I think this happened when they were already on their mission. Also, I'd like to think this happened when Holloway somehow got infected already on the planet and then infected her too.

I agree with Ruth on this one. Nuff said.

I agree with ruth, we have a infection issue, perhaps with one being blatantly infected, and Holloway thinks he not infected, they make love, and before or after he finds out he infected. And he passed on a sexually transmitted mutant. (Space herpes :) )

I think the OP has something worth considering. To those who so readily write it off, he never said the scene in the trailer is where she becomes pregnant. Holloway and Shaw seem to have an already established relationship, so for them to have had sex before the trip is feasible. If she became pregnant right before departure, she possibly would not know it yet. This would make the mutation transfer from Holloway (if this is even what happens, we don't even know that for sure, people are taking a lot of things for granted here), or any other mutation transfer Shaw receives very disturbing when combined with pregnancy.

i had this same theory sometime back. the new trailer does offer some new perspectives though since in the new trailer we clearly hear someone whom based off our previous concepts screams "get this thing out of me" from the references we have of shaw being religious and the clear feelings she has for holloway i dont think that would be her response if she was previously pregnant....could be wrong just saying

If Shaw was pregnant before the trip the company would know. Unless things change really significantly between now and then an astronaut goes through a fairly comprehensive health screening before being allowed to fly.
Of course it is totally possible that everyone is aware of her bun in the oven and maybe that's why David takes an interest in monitoring the little guy.
