Oh, come on, guys.
Anyone with an open wound of that size, in that posture, would soon get the feeling their guts would like to fall out onto their feet.
Furthermore, if you had an open wound of that size, practically no matter what state of mind you were in, you would instinctively put your hand over it - as you instinctively seek cover any large wound for a number of reasons.
No doubt, you'd be particularly motivated to do that if the wound was one likely give you the impression your guts were going to fall on the floor.
In addition, if that wound was actually open, it would be literally painting her groin and legs with blood.
What you are looking at is blood staining on her underwear.

@allinamberclad...not me, im looking at the tear in her belly. i dont believe its an open wouldn however. if it was, it would be gushing blood and guts, as you say.
and no self respecting med-pod would leave a wound that size gaping like that...it looks cauterized. still, i believe she would be clinging to it, as I would be.
in one trailer its a darker looking scar all the way across her stomach, and in another its very crimson and almost looks like it cuts her half way in half from her right side.
having said all that, it should be said that, unless im mistaken, a c section is a north and south incision.

@yhms
No. If you're talking about that lateral red strip, that is not the wound, it is not cauterized - at least that red strip does not define the cauterization. A, "tear", is only what you think you're looking at.
That is a blood stain. On her underwear.
The actual wound is sited maybe 2 cm above that band - and it is stapled.
I give up.

That band of red is blood stain on her clothing ... I been through this scene loads in 1080P with ALL the trailers (10+) ... the staples are above that ... you can see it properly in the other trailers ... ;) ...
EDIT:
What allinamberclad said ... :) ...

Ok, I didn’t expect such pedantic concern for my use of ‘open’ and ‘c-section’. So let’s just call it a wound and get back to the point. In the US and UK trailers, Shaw has staples across the lower front of her torso. In the Japanese trailer, she does not.
May I suggest reviewing the said trailer in 1080p and pausing it between 2:04 - 05. Then you can judge for yourself.

Looks dreadfully painful :S poor shaw
However in these situations your body is shot up full of adrenaline allowing her to take the pain I assume

@ McFilmStar - The Japanese trailer is the same as the old UK trailer.
@ allinamberclad - So she has the staples in ALL the trailers?
April 17, 2012
@jedi master...actually it depends on the need, and sometimes the patient is cut both ways.
a lateral incision is used if possible because its easier to repair and there's less blood loss.
so...neither right nor wrong.

Just to clearify ...
Also you cannot do a proper frame by frame with the YouTube interface ... you need to download the videos and then use some decent software that can render each frame ... you miss so much using the YouTube search bar ...

Ok, on further inspection the ‘Intervention Trailer (UK)’ is identical to the Japanese trailer in that is does indeed feature the bloody wound.
It is the ‘Official Full Trailer’ that has censored the scene with strobing and black/green colouring.

Well, something is up with that sequence. It has been altered obviously, and that scene was supposedly a difficult one for Noomi to get over after the fact. It is supposed to be a shocker.
There is SOMETHING we haven't seen yet, and we've seen alot of it- squid and all. The size of the wound, the amount of gore, whatever.
