What is This?

I see a rock.

A flat stone.

Something is also attaching the cylinder/urn to the ground. You can see it on the others. Kinda looks like a mass of cobwebs.

More stone. I'm more interested in how those things haven't fallen over yet - they look top heavy with a base that has too small a footprint. I get the strong urge to turn them onto the other end and say, "That's better!"

Maybe that's what someone does, allinamberclad... unwittingly unleashing some sort of alien terror on themselves in the process. ;)

Ha ha, it all kicked off due to knocking over an urn. talk about kicking the hornets nest. The SJ is watching from afar with his mates " all it takes is one misstep and we are on for a show lads!!" "Oooooh nearly.. wait, wait, wait for it......Yay ! its on" "that red haired lass is tasty i think i might have go" "perv !"

@allinamberclad haha, I was thinking exactly the same thing and then read your post. What keeps them standing? They seem to be too easy to knock down.

Alien Technology probably prevents them from falling over ... I'm hoping their physics is different ... :) ...

@all - loving it. It is strange, 'though...it's probably not significant beyond creating a slightly unsettling effect, but if that's all it is, it's pretty effective - from the first time I saw those things, I thought, "Don't these look somehow wrong?..." - But I wasn't sure why.

If they are all found standing up, it creates visual tension in the movie when our heros begin to walk in among them. We'll all be biting our nails just waiting too see which poor bloke knocks one over and gets facehugged, slimed or whatever. Accidents waiting to happen.
