Vickers Suite aboard Prometheus Possible Spoilers or NOT!

Come on, we have about 5 BAD company people in Alien films. Let's shake it up and have a company person who's good! I think she's always having long, luxurious showers, blow-drying her hair, having the heating up full blast, calling her boyfriend via intergalactic satellite network, downloading or streaming movies on netflix, baking stuff and leaving the oven on and has a huge but empty fridge freezer. There's your power drain.

Why would Weyland bring both his daughter and the 'son he never had' (David - this rankles Vickers) on a potentially dangerous voyage? Unless he never expected that it would be dangerous. But, still, any spaceflight would involve some foreseeable danger. What gets me about Vickers is her Cassandra quality - she warns them they are about to die. It's like the polar opposite of Ash, if she really is a synth. Why would you go half way around the universe and then at your final destination, refuse to take the last 15 steps because of death? What is the purpose of her warning? The only alternative is that she's unstable.

Maybe Vickers is Weyland's daughter and she is very much aware of why they are really going to Arrakis. Weyland knows what they will find there and wants to use it to prolong his life. Vickers becomes attached to the crew, unlike David...potential confrontation?

I dont know if its important in anyway, but Charlize has mentioned in two interviews Ive watched that her character(Vickers) is a alcoholic. She seems to have problems. Maybe those backless stools in her suit were a bad choice.

Very interesting. I have not checked out this game, but it sounds like it has really given away a LOT of spoilerish info. I had practically convinced myself that Weyland had already travelled out there on the original ship the Heliades, but now they have thrown out that there is a secret area on the ship and it is right next to Vickers supposed quarters, and its drawing a ton of power... Hmmmm...what else could it obviously be? Duh. And that pic.. wow!... I had seen it elsewhere but I had no idea it was supposedly Vickers quarters. I thought it was maybe another lounge area on the ship specifically for the crew to really relax in.. to make them feel like they are back home... but Vickers quarters??? Huhhh??? Seems more that like the personal stateroom of a very powerful Billionaire with a giant ego. Could this be why Vickers is awakened early then?... So that she can privately check on Weylands tube prior to everyone else waking up when there will be no chances to do this. Maybe DAVID is really not even aware of Weyland's presence?? Wow.. A million more questions now. hahahaha

@Chimera ... That makes sense yes ... Room X could well hold the extra MedPod ... ;) ... Regarding the 'COFFEE' table ... good point but I reckon it's on wheels and so 'could' also be used by those sitting on the couch :) ... iPad lol ... I'd say that's a MultiPad ... ( tm (c) 2012 Gem]n[ lol ) ... remote 'everything' ... what gets me is we're using tablets now ... they should be using 'PalstiFlex' type screens by now ... you know the bendy type that are coming out late this year ...

I did the Verizon thing too and given the hint that Vickers had to get back to the ship I guessed that she too was an android like David. Boy was I way off after reading this.

@Chimera: I played the game too...it also implies that Vickers' secret chamber is over-consuming power...when prompted to answer what the reason for this might be..I answered without hesitation, that she probably had continuous communication in secret with the company HQ. And yes...maybe she is hosting Mr Weyland. I liked very much your observations. Pretty clever.Also Vickers appears to be a company stiff blue suit. But also a concealed sensitive person in the inside. She might have been given orders by the company to nurture Mr. Weyland...or keep an Ash-like eye on the crew of Prometheus. And she seems to perhaps know things..she said "if you go down there you will die.." .Proves to me that she both knows things, but also tends to care for the people around her too!

I don't think the idea of controlling David or another android will be a far fetched one. Look closely at the iluminated text on Shaw's cryotube. It rtefers to things as neurolinks and the stage of rem sleep she is in. I'm guessing the hand on the tank is David's and he (or whomever that is) is perhaps eavesdropping on people's dreams. If an android or the ship's computer can do that, then controlling an android remotely doesn't seem that much of a stretch. Just theorizing here. Anyone have thoughts along these lines?

It is very intereting to think that Weyland may be able to live and experience life through David while he is in cryo stasis not aging or getting closer to death before he has the chance to find a means of immortality or to extend his life further. hmmmmmm!

Well to be honest I can't see HOW a MedPod can fit into Vickers suite ... the room is the same size as the MedLab ... going by the ship layout ... In the trailer the MedPod takes up half the room by the looks of it ... as it's in a circular type shape ... curious ... maybe the rooms are bigger than they actually look ... also seems weird having the MedPod right next to the main DOOR entrance to the MedLab? ... :) ...

@Chimera; YW! What I really loved is the chandelier right there on a freaken spaceship.. So extravagant. (Also notice the iPad on the desk??. LOL!)

Well, I have not had a look at any of the teasers in awhile because I want to get them out of my mind prior to the movie. I forgot... In that scene with Vickers saying "If you go down there, you are going to die", what others characters are in frame? If I remember the camera is on her, but whoever she is speaking to is out of the frame. Could it be WEYLAND that she is specifically saying that line to??

I went through the Verizon mission as well. The main things that it seemed they wanted to get across is that Vicker's suite was using a lot of power. Also if you adjust the temperatures in two of the rooms, other than the escape pod room, you uncover the words "APOCALYPSE and GENESIS". Hard to say what it all means, but Genesis being the beginning of the bible "creation" and maybe apocalypse referring to Revelations. Are they trying to get across that maybe Vickers is trying to act like a god and be the alpha and omega, beginning and the end?
