Shaw undergoes massive character transformation?

Hi All, It has been long time since I have posted..but I have kept up with this forum daily for my Prometheus fix. I very intrigued on Shaw's seeming character transformation in this movie.. seems like she starts out as a doe eyed innocent nieve character and transforms into something that looks like has been through the ringer so many times..you cant help but to think, WOW!. Is she going to kick ASS in this movie or what. I am going to put some picks in order of intensity ( as best as I can) I am not sure of the order of the movie though..what do you all think of Elizabeth Shaw... Sometimes great acting can making scary monsters 10 time more real and scary. Charlize and Noomi are wht really gives me great hope for this film. A bit like Harry Dean Stanton in Alien.

i've not yet seen Noomi in anything other than the PROMETHEUS trailers from what i can see so far (specifically second to last pic) that expression appears to have been conjured from genuine terror can't wait to see what compelled her to express such palpable emotion, and to watch her, and experience her delivery of what i suspect to be a great and equally memorable new performance

It does look like she is getting her ass kicked around, one of my favorite stills is with her wielding the ax, it seems so out of her character from the beginning of the movie. And the next great still IMO is the one second to the last with that intense scream, I feel like she is going to totally suck you in to her emotion and I am going to be pulling for her to MAKE IT! I would be disappointed if she dies half way through the movie, I mean all that seems to happen to her seems fitting that she comes out of it by the skin of her teeth and a total hard/bad ass. I would leave the theater like WOW I can't believe she went through all that. Now if she died at the end, It would depend how she dies, does she go all MARTYR and save her fellow crew member/s?, save Earth? it would be a little disappointing to be pulled into her emotion just to have her die, but it may be just as powerful if she dies at the end as it would be powerful if she barely makes it. I really think she is going to be awesome in this movie.

Actually, it's looking like SHE's the one who's gonna get her ass kicked...and worse... But I agree, she's bound to be excellent in this.

I hope Shaw and Vickers have a pillow fight!!But I believe her character ages quite a bit moreso than the others,except maybe Holloway.

Well she said that in interviews , she start like a scientist, a beliver , maybe a bit naive ...and she will have to change into a warrior .

This intense change can only mean some pretty intense situations - and things - creating it. I've never seen her acting yet too, but seeing all these clips and stills over the months I think she'll give us our money's worth. Yes, I say it again, she's a raving beauty as well.

Hi dear fellow fans of all things alien. I've seen parts of 'Girl with the dragon tatoo' she can definetly kick major asZz and she has a kind of vulnerablity and an inviting susceptible presence. No doubt we'll be rooting for her through out. Charlize on the other hand is the frigid mysterious enigma who might just surprise us. My money'son her being the one who ends up in the SJ chair. Any bets???

I have seen her in a few films, including the Swedish version of "Girl with a Dragon Tattoo". And lets just say that she can blow stuff out of the water. I feel that Noomi Rapace will be getting a lot more attention by american film producers after this, as Noomi Rapace outdid Rooney Mara in the same role.

I would recommend that anyone who hasn't seen them, watch all 3 of the [i]Girl[/i] movies. If you've seen [i]The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo[/i], watch the remaining two films. And vatch them in Svedish, ja! Also, in that second-to-last still of her that the OP posted, Shaw looks angry or enraged, not terrified. Look at her eyes. They're squnting a bit (rage). I like the character she plays in Sherlock Holmes.But she doesn't paly so much films,as I know just 3 ,Sherlock Holmes,Girl with a Dragon Tattoo and this one.

@WILLIAMSM1911 (and anyone else who isn't aware), There is a trilogy of [i]Girl[/i] films. [i]The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo[/i] [i]The Girl Who Played with Fire[/i] [i]The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest[/i] If you have Netflix, you can stream them all. The versions on Netflix are even extended cuts. Something like 9 hours between all 3 films.

She starts out innocent so-to-speak but like anyone who's seen combat, becomes radically changed by sheer horror. I guess post traumatic stress syndrome coupled with whatever physiological changes the SJ DNA imposed.

@jones- I think you are absolutely right on that second to last picture-she does look enraged..I think she is swing that ax that she was holding in the other still I had on her...it seems that way. @sparticus I hope my leap of faith didnt sound like i as being arrogant- nothing of the sort- I appologize if it seemed that way.. Oh dear, I am praying to Zeus and Hera that Shaw does anything but become a kick-ass heroine. No, been there done that. Nothing ruins suspense more than having a character I know is going to survive and become xena warrior queen. Why Alien is suspenseful, Aliens less so. Not that she can't have a great arc, but the innocent becoming warrior one is meh. Dear Zeus, Prometheus, Hera, Cronos et al, please accept my offering and reward my prayer. Make this horror horrific.

Dallas I hear what you are saying, good point, a heroine was ground breaking in 1979 not so much now. I was looking at random stills and I noticed what seemed like a progression of a character (Shaw) that I did not pick up on with the other actors. When I gathered the random stills from different sites and put them in the best order of intensity I noticed it seemed to also follow a progression in the movie as well. Of course I am guessing, just my observation. Having all those pics lined up neatly on my computer got me pumped up (as if I can get any more pumped up for this movie) I thought WOW is there something to this? is she going to kick ass? or is it just coincidence that I isolated Shaw and could have done that with any other character? but I was drawn in by the intensity on her face, the stills the freeze frame moment and I think when it plays out on film it will draw me in and I will be pulling for her to save the day.
