Taking into account that the film is made for 3D, we may actually get to experience stuff you don't usually get to see in real life: an immersive holographic experience (sort of piggy backing it). I can't wait to see prometheus's navigation displays as well as the Alien star map of course. i 'm sure the star map scene is there to feature this capability and am pretty sure it will be a 1st. in cinema. Can't wait.

I would agree there Macs ... I think 3D has come a long way since Avatar ... I will be seeing in it 3D and 2D though ... I reckon you're miss loads because of the awe of the 3D :) ...

I want that more than anything I can want from this film. I am very excited and think we will see both Levitation, and Holograms, my two favorite things on earth next to Film, BBQ's, Rock & Roll & Beer !!!

Yup, personally I'm hoping to fit in a 3D viewing, followed by a 2D viewing, followed by a 3D viewing again.

On the basis only of your comment, I am now considering risking my usual 3D migraine that smartly splits my head into halves like a dry log.

I will do an initial 3D IMAX viewing at US's midnight release (purchasing seats in a couple of weeks) and unless I get totally rocked out of my seat that'll be it until the Blue-Ray Directors Cut release probaby 6 months later (December-ish) when I'll be ready to go to the cinema again for the Hobbitt.

I am very optimistic that it will look really really cool.
