Homage to Alien and Prometheus perhaps?

I saw [i]The Avengers[/i] yesterday and there were a couple of things that made me think of [i]Prometheus[/i] and [i]Alien[/i] in it; perhaps a homage from the makers of the movie? It's a long shot, but here it is: The first element was the graphic on Robert Downey Jr.'s Black Sabbath shirt, what does it remind you of? That basic design is from Never say Die. Last album I think that Ozzy was in.

they have used the design again this month for the poster for the homecoming show here in Birmingham, next saturday and I've got a ticket!!!

that t-shirt looks more just generically '70's then alien specific. It looks like a cover of a heavy metal mag. I love it.

@Shane "that t-shirt looks more just generically '70's then alien specific. It looks like a cover of a heavy metal mag." I'm not saying the original artwork had Alien in mind. This of course would have been impossible as the movie did not premier till 1979.

I've seen the Avengers twice now- and will probably go again if I can talk my wife into going... Given the short lines Mr. Stanton had in the film, I don't think it could've been more obvious unless he said "riiiiight". No doubt in my mind- he was there for a reason.
