Come on you lot......dont tell me you fell in love with Alien just because of the story and the acting.
Personally i still get off on the first couple of frames of the Alien opening its mouths in front of Brett, making that little hissing kind of sound.........THATS why i fell in love with Alien, oh and the scenery.
So yeah, i for one would be disappointed if theres no xenos....even at the end, i dont care as long as it pays homage to the original xeno rather than the domeless Cameron versions.

Yes...yes I would bella.......I love 'The X-Files'...definately one of the best shows in tv history..hands down......do you remember the episode 'Jose Chung's From Outer Space'...my favorite episode....

belladonnaApril 23, 2012
season 2 is the best in my opinion! "humbug" is my favorite episode.
my favorite part is when mulder scares the little person trailer park manager enough to run away because he insinuated he found his size "sexually alluring" lol.
Jose Chung's From Outer Space is an odd episode! great one though :)

One thing that makes Alien great is you hardly ever see the xeno. Most of the suspense and fear comes from our imagination after being immersed into an unimaginable situation that seems so realistic because of acting, story, set design, music and cinematography.
The designs by Giger are probably the most original and disturbing ever put on film, but only enhance this great all around timeless film.

because it was smart, inspired me as an artist and it pushed parameters in film.

So you must think that the AVP films are even better than Alien because they show the aliens more and there is no acting to speak of.

craigamoreApril 24, 2012
"Humbug"...great episode.....they just don't make tv like that anymore.......

belladonnaApril 24, 2012
they sure dont!!
as of newer shows i was getting into "better off ted" because it was quirky science themed and they canceled the hell out of that show :/

I love alien because aside from the unlikely event that we will anytime soon meet "alien" life, it does show that mankind is exploring deep-space, setting up mining colonies, hauling refinery equipment, establishing penal-colonies.....basically what we saw during our era of colonialism but on a much grander scale but instead of countries being the "evil" colonialists, we now substitute "the company"-ies.
Realistically speaking, countries are a dieing breed. Look at England. A shadow of its former self where the sun never set on the British empire. (I'm British (living in the US), btw, and as British passport carrying "subject", I'm justified in making/stating these observation in conjuncture with trips back seeing the degradation of my country....unfortunately at its own hands...aka. The CommonWealth Backlash).
Alien gives me hope that within several decades, we all won't necessarily be confined to this planet and there is hope of attempting to "start over" (hopefully, minus the bug problems).

Just like they canceled "Firefly" and they canceled "Freaks and Geeks" and who knows how many other great shows before they could actually BE something....idiots

belladonnaApril 24, 2012
they are idiots. now everything thats on is a bunch of crappy reality shows, D-list dancing celebs, and random singing teenagers.
hell the better off ted veridian dynamics adds were better then whats on during prime time now!!

That's exactly why I have to go on 'X-Files' series marathons that take months...I'm on season 8 and started almost two years ago......I do have a life outside of my nerdy obsessions....

belladonnaApril 24, 2012
lol im currently on a star trek marathon myself. im almost finished with enterprise. already watched the original series, TNG, DS9, and voyager.
voyager was hard enough to get through, i am not enjoying enterprise AT ALL.
after that im watching the old cartoon series, i havent seen it yet.
after that i have officially watched everything star trek. *sad violin music*.
i think im going to re watch all of the movies also, i havent seen some of them in many years and dont remember everything.
lol but we are our nerdy obsessions! it seems hard to believe i have a life too and people ask how i have the time to do all of this crap. the answer is always INSOMNIA!
i dont sleep every day and when i do its usually only 2-4 hours at a time. so that gives me a crap ton of time for nerd shows and actual bill paying work lol.

Yeah...it never seems like there's enough time for everything and I'm usually so exhausted from work that I want to fall asleep in my drive way...........

What!!?!?! ENTERPRISE flipping ROCKS!
Such a maligned series... when it was probably the Best Ever!... Trekkie nerdlingers... almost as bad as Macgruber Stargate fans. ; P
Other than the Original series boxset, the 4 seasons of Enterprise are the only Trek shows I actually own and actually watch repeatedly.

Let's calm down everyone. This is a community and typed words never display the desired intent (jest, sarcasm, etc.) Hopefully, we can take a breather and come back to the community with the ultimate goal that we're here to have FUN!

Ya CanadaPhil , i loved "ENTERPRISE" and i was really pissed when they Announced it was going to be canned , it was just the..... , let say the rawness of it all , not to mention the cool ship design

Whoa there ... ez you two ...
Well to be honest I am a Sci-Fi geek full on ... I got a wicked collection of movies ... and I mean a lot ... I don't generally collect series as much but have a few ... Buck Rogers, Battlestar Galactica (original), 'V' (original), Logan's Run, Fantastic Voyage, etc... but I got stuff from all over ...
My personal experience with ALIEN? ... I was 15 when I saw it ... the Sci-Fi I was well into before Alien was the classic 50's/60's stuff ... so when Alien arrived I thought Sci-Fi couldn't get that scary ... HELLO!!!??? ... sometimes I am glad I was still in my nappies ... ;) ...
So yeah an original (and totally the best ever) Alien creature ... I was hooked there and then ... it drove my love for Sci-Fi even harder ...

CanadaPhilApril 24, 2012
I here ya NCC...
For me, after suffering through years of hairspray hairdo's and pressed polyester pant suits, there was finally a dark and gritty "adult" Enterprise, with a multi-year Story Arc!!.. The first time that had been tried again since the days of Babylon 5, and still a couple years before BSG.
And for anyone who knows the true stories behind that shows, DS9 was a complere rip off of B5! Why JMS never sued the DS9 production is still a question... too much a class act I guess. Well, he did go on to success on his own terms with Babylon 5 (five year story arc) and the five B5 TV movies.
