MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 9:34 AM Bear in mind that the primary mission maybe LV-223 but that also LV-426 will not likely be too far away and therefore the inclusion of space flight time is not limited so
easily, also that there could be more than 1 ship in the film. As RS has indicated in
his Q&A's that this will not be ALIEN like directly that indeed there will be new angles to
see and like JJ Abrams for revising Star Trek he must follow a new trend for today's new
audiences.
As in the film new evolution must take place and that the changes will always come as
a shock until we adapt.

It's a different story. Not sure why so many fans have this pathological need for the movie to end with a derelict crashing on LV-426 to be found by the Nostromo crew.
That would be too much like the Thing prequel where the film ends with an infected dog running in the snow. That's pretty trite storytelling and obviously not where Riddles wanted to go with this. I'm not looking for a movie that ties up all the loose ends and neatly leads into the original Alien. I'm hoping for a new and interesting story told in an entertaining way.
The kind of obsession this insistence on the film ending on LV-426 shows is akin to the people who freaked out about how the Peter Weyland TED talk conflicted with their precious AVP canon. I am personally all for less fanservice and more awesome storytelling. If that means that Prometheus doesn't meticulously lay the foundation for Alien, no problem. I am fine with it standing on its own as a separate tale.

Hes told us many many times (Ridley Scott) Prometheus is a stand alone story. I dont feel any need for the story to tie in Alien in the ending sequences.
Im taking it for what it is. A story within the same Universe as Alien
I dont need to see a Xeno or a facehugger to be pleased and dont want to. I am quite impressed with what ive seen so far (trailers and so forth)
Im loving the secrecy, loving the anticipation. I dont need every question in the book answered just want a thought provoking story, beautiful RS visuals and a thrilling ride

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 12:31 PMFor all we know, near the end they have a readout where other alien ships are at, and one is listed as LV-426

Assuming the planets are named in number order. There is a long time between the discovery of LV 223 and LV 426
