Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

The Titan Prometheus is to a Lone 'Space Jockey' as Gift of Fire is to Human Int

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and declare that I've figured out how the mythology of Prometheus ties into Scott's story 'Prometheus'....ready? Instead of thinking that one of us mortals (humans) stole something, I decided to focus my thought to the dead 'Jockey' in 'Alien'.... Then it hit me. He is the "Titan" punished by the "Gods"... The Xeno is the "Eagle" in which they inflicted his punishment.... And giving 'primitive' human man the ability of Intellect was his "Fire" to which he stole and gave to the 'Mortals'.... To add to this idea, I strongly believe that in the movie 'Prometheus' our advancement is unbeknownst to the rest of the 'Jockey' race thus why when they discover the crew of the Prometheus ship, they turn their attention toward rectifying the mistake that was giving us such a pivotal ability in our evolution, in the same fashion that fire was pivotal to the mortals in Greek mythology..... .....What do ya think, eh?

@centrosphere, I like your idea of them feeling us as a threat as a result... I was thinking it might be more of an egotistical stand point that makes them revolt against the idea of another intellectual being in proximity

I personally think that humans either screw it up OR we wern't supposed to be there in the first place. I mean, they created humanity, why should they feel threatened by us?

"I mean, they created humanity, why should they feel threatened by us?" By the same reason we have endless movies and books about the coming robot apocalypse...

Before the start of filming, there was talk of hiring two actors to play the Elder Engineer and Engineer 1. There was also a mention of someone who saw three big guys in Engineer costumes eating lunch outside the studio stage. I like the theory since it fits well. The idea of an elder engineer made me think along these lines: The lower engineer does something (in the past or in the movie) to give humans forbidden tech. He may have been a champion of humans from the beginning. However, that gets the Elder Engineer mad and we see some of the uncivilized behavior we have heard about regarding the engineer's society, i.e., an advanced but cruel society. The Elder Engineer punishes the Engineer 1 with a little alien rape by the xeno/facehugger/squid. Resulting in the SJ (the Engineer who gave us tech) with the xeno eating his liver.

@AlsoKnownAsNate I've pondered the same idea myself, and I think I'v read read similar concepts on this site by other members...but interesting nevertheless. In fact, it's probably the plot idea I favor the most. Well done. ~Neurion

Nothing really new or groundbreaking about this theory, I sincerely hope this is NOT the tie in with mythology. This internal Jockey punishment conflict sounds boring and not very sci-fi grandeur to me.

You went out on a limb, and you asked what we think, this is is what I think, and I am not gonna excuse for it. If you can´t take criticism, don't post your ideas. I don´t know you, and I have no interest in "tiding you over" (to use your own expression). I HOPE your idea is not the real plot, because I honestly find it boring. I am not judging your ability to uncover the real plot, you might be right, but I hope you are not.

It's a possible explanation, but probably not the right one. I think humans represent Prometheus and they are trying to steal the secret of "creation" from the engineers. For this trespass, the engineers will punish the humans by using them as hosts for the xenomorphs. However, the bigger question is who are the engineers and where did they come from?
