From the Weyland Industries website timeline: 2071 Weyland Industries earns patent number 18,364,003 for Method and Apparatus for device able to temporarily restart brain activity of deceased individuals. IF Weyland is actually deceased by the time that the Prometheus mission begins then perhaps his body is put on stasis and then this device is used to revive him for whatever reason... I find it curious that Peter Weyland's death is not reported on the company timeline.....

@dsjohnson84: I second that. I'm still convinced that he's stowed away in Vickers chambers, which explains why she'd have her own stasis box(es), medpod plus high energy consumption surely to keep ol' Weyland sort of alive. I also still believe he's the old man in the wheelchair we've seen. No way they'd cast Guy Pearce for a few minutes of film in a holographic message and a viral video clip! But I'm sure it's already been discussed to bits around here...

...and doesn't that little device look a bit small and 'lo-tech' for a rather significant task like that, too? I'd expected quite an apparatus. Oh God, please let me go back to the real world. LOL

So, the SJ head theory is what? David uses the probe to activate the SJ head's synapses and David does a mind meld with the head? Or do we hook it up to something ala Ash? Kind of like it. But the process would stretch credibility.

Mind meld. hahaha. Yeah, What were we talking about? Yes I believe that technology will play a significant part in the movie; they dedicate lots of Weyland.com space to it... Probably explains the digitally grainy image we see of the fleeing person in the spacesuit
