The history of the Derelict in a hologram?

I think its fair to say it is a historical hologram but not of the Derelict....I interpret this as probably the last "recording" of what happened to the crew of the "Juggernaut". It looks as if the middle and right jockeys are preparing to enter the "sarcophagi/cryo pods" while the left walking one is probably the "survivor" we will encounter in the movie.

I think it's more than likely a welcome and a messages talking about how they have shaped humans.

@Galzu and @TheNextLV426 They may be preparing to enter the sarcophagus for quarantine, who knows. But on the other side and returning to the theme of the Derelict I thing Ridley will show us a hint or indication of that and I thought it would be possible holographic story. Obviously I prefer a more literal and tangible appearance at the end of the movie, but for now this is all very uncertain IMHO.

I like this, shows we may get some backstory of these guys, anyone noticed the effect around the one walking in from the left of frame, looks very similar to the footage of something running away in a tunnel (you know the clip).

I think that is used for the mission briefing, this looks much more advanced

@scrounger ... You know ... I was gonna post the same thing ... after reading the electronics section ... But I was gonna add ... I reckon they used the WEYLAND MODULAR COMPUTING DEVICE to interface to the SJ's 'electronics' ... and then use the Weyland HOLOTAB to project its findings ... I reckon this because, to me, thinking more about it, the hologram displays do NOT look BioMechanical enough, like the rest of the SJs electronics ... So here's a thing ... what if the Hologram scenes (projections) in the trailers are produced by Weyland Electronics and NOT the SJ's electronics ... if you read up on the Weylands WMCD it can INTERFACE with pratically ANYTHING and so produce Audio?Visual representation of any signal it encounters ... so I reckon they 'plumb' (plug in) their HoloTab equipment into the WMCB and somehow Interface with the SJ's electronics ... this seems to make more sense now as I did think the Hologram effect was NOT in the same vein as the SJ's Biomechanical ElectroDischarge control panel electronics (used loosley) ...

@ Snorkelbottom, @scrounger and @Gem]n[ Yes, I think it is possible that these images are projected by Weyland technology and thus can learn the plans of these mysterious entities ... and who knows ... maybe find out something about the Derelict. On the other hand this room should be the command center engineers to prepare the ship for a mission of destruction or Abiogenesis (or a war mission). Des this way the spacecraft can be configured for different uses and the polls may be the seed of life or the seed of death ...

What?? I dont even remember that entry late in the timeline?? Was that just edited in recently? I have noticed that they have made other slight changes to the text in the Timeline lately related to Security items.

Ahahhh.... YES IT IS A BRAND NEW ENTRY. That was never in the versions of the Timeline that I have used for reference. Here is a link to a blog site with a ton of Alien universe related stuff. This timeline (which has site authors personal notes added in) was last updated April 12th. NO ENTRY for this piece of tech being perfected in 2073. Only an original 2024 entry called the HOLOGRAPHIC ENVIRONMENT SIMULATOR. So it looks like the production is continuing to revise this list as they go. Wouldnt interfacing be a problem?

I personally find the idea that human tech could "interface" with alien tech and immediately produce a comprehensible output, directly usable in any context by humans far too "Star Trek". I hope that we see nothing of the sort. Instead, alien tech used by aliens is observed by humans, just before they are eviscerated.

And know to this they have added stuff about BIO-REPLICATOR pods (for home use even!) that have the ability to produce new seedlings at the push of a button from a database of millions of DNA samples !?!?!...What??? I completely agree. This now seems to be getting way too convoluted and way beyond what should really be plausible in our not too distant future. There has been a ton of revising, editing and new additions to the Weyland timeline just in the last few days.

I don't know what to make of the Weyland timeline detail, except to think that it is sort of "soft" info, being banged together to satisfy the viral campaign. And if they're getting page-views, they're going to produce even more stuff to keep us all coming back... And those BIO-REPLICATOR pods, just imagine how effed up the backyards of America will be!

Judging by the fact the SJ invited us or wanted us to visit that video is SJ technlogy and not ours. They are after all in the temple and David8 found a way to activate the system which is possibly showing the last update which could have been 20 days ago or 1000's of years before. David8 is highly advanced and intelligent and he was likely the only one capable of activating this computer grid/interface. I predict David8, on company orders, will keep quiet about the information he finds in this hologram and not alert the crew much like Bishop and Ash did. David8 is also opening up those metal cacoons to study much like Bishop did. There will be double crossing. As previous members have said. This rooms looks like the bridge or central intelligence hub for the ship where all data, star maps, etc are stored. David8 just opened it right up.

Look at the outer ring of the hologram in one of the very large still that you can use the zoom to get good quality detail. It looks like writing but definitly not amything we have seen on Earth. I am not saying that this image, alien writing and all could not be displayed using above theorized Earth holo tech, just that there appears to be alien symbols being displayed.

One blue guy appears to move his arms the same way as David, so Engineer tech? I wonder if it compares the dumb (or not so dumb) human tech with engineer tech. Maybe, As a historical log, we see Engineer savagery, and the one guy running off - from the early image. David may use the cube to record the thing. Or, the cube still could be used as the projector. Anyway, I like the cube and it doesn't have to seem like star trek, well the projection seems more than star trek. There are quantum computers being developed now. In theory, they could quickly work out all solutions (right and wrong) to a problem and provide the right answer. Imagine that tech 60 years later with mastery of nano tech, you could carry a super computer in your pocket. However, the rubic's cube shape seems a little unimpressive.
