There is a shot of a tall human with a bald head getting into the Telescope chaire and when he sits in that chaire it covers him in a suit and his head is covered in a helemt that from side profile appears like an elephant with a small trunk. But also in the film are beings in suits who look excactly like the being found in the chair in alien 1 they have a massive pipe from there front head going into there abdomin. I dont think the guy in the chair suit is the same as those beings, maybe he is the driver of the hovering ship and they are the drivers of the horseshoe ships but they can not be the same as they look totally different. It appears that in Alien one of the engineers is in that chair in an engineer suit but the official driver would be encased in a suit that comes from behind the chair.

I wouldn't dismiss his theory entirely, there could be more than one race at hand as well as some trickery afoot.

ok, this is the deal (I'll go back to this after the movie is released)
The Jockies are another race who were burned by the Engineers: they landed their ship on the LV planet eons ago (for the same reasons we came) and got wiped out. The engineers stashed their ship underground and the whole mess was recorded for our gang to discover. We wake up the biological carnival therein and get schooled as the the Jockies did. Simple enough?
ALIEN 1 is just a Jocky ship that barely got away, but not quite

I'm afraid we're not seeing this as it is.....The bald guy is the jockey and his ribs that appear on the outside of his body arte what the suit attaches too....we're looking at one lifeform people...Jockey and Enginner are one and the same...

I can't believe people are actually suggesting that the Jockey and Engineer are two different species....LMAO.... I wonder if they think that Neal Armstrong looks like a puffy white being with a gold visor face and an American flag tattoo on his shoulder?..... The 'Elephant looking' creatures are just Space Suits on top of the 9 foot tall Humanoid creatures with the Grayish skin and blueish bio-mechanical armor......
April 29, 2012
Multiple creatures? yes.......multiple extraterritorial intelligence? I'm willing to bet against that......
April 29, 2012
I'm totally with you AlsoKnownAsNate...and I honestly think that this vague notion od two extraterrestrial intelligence began out of pure dislike for the humanoid as SpaceJockey reality....
April 29, 2012
why do we see remains of the jockeys....was there a division in their race? good versus evil?
why are they dormant? why arent they classy enough to pick up sh*t? they just leave their dead on the floor.....methinks battle. somebody had a fight.
I think it is totally possible for there to be another being/race. and ridley could leave it a mystery for 30 more years like he did the sj's in alien....lets hope not...lol

Is anyone considering the fact that all of these decapitations of engineers, Space Jockeys, little alien body that looks not 100 % like a Engineer to me are going to have something to do with the "Head Burster" TM that we see? Huge gigantic bodies and smaller bodies all missing heads. Also, the cobra looks like a vagina kind of to me, Also the fleeing space jockeys look weak body wise and timid compared to the Adonis like Engineers purposeful strut, they don't seem to be the running in fear for their life type, but if the holograms are depicting Engineers running why do they look out of shape and soft, thin arms, almost flabby? I'm beginning to think that the Derelict crafts might have been stolen by the Engineers and as in the original Alien the Space Jockeys are a benevelont race that has encountered a "Master Race" type engineer that entraps others and possibly steals their technology through force (such as the croisant) and comandeers it. Kinda like Hitlers mind frame. The seat and suits might have been the benevelont elephantine beings spacegear, thats why it doesn't looklike the engineers or us. Its created to conform with their trunk like features but an engineer can wear it also with the nose piece just useless space.

Hmmm interesting! I like your idea! But I think either they look smaller just cause they are "bred'' for different purposes or the Jockeys suits age and the individual we shaw is just old.

Synthrimonger94, you mean like ocean dwelling fish can grow huge, tuna flounder, sharks, but in small spaces they grow to a certain size and stop? Alsocan the bald guy being encased in the suit possibly be the bald human we keep seeing in the wheel chair and space suit? Possibly sigh Weyland saying screw it, if I'm gonna die this here suit might make me last a few more years or centuries or heal me?

I think the engineer race might be some kinda pathogen. The black box is showing a member of a race running from already transformed members. So there could be multiple races. It could also be a child of that race running.
The bodies that can hand the virus become engineers, those that can't become mutations. [Which might explain the pile of spent bodies]
Another idea is that if it is a pathogen, maybe the jockey from alien was a engineer in another host body, a larger alien lifeform...which is why it was so much larger then the ones we see in prometheus. The chair and the suit morph to fit the size of the person driving it.
I honestly am will to accept multiple intelligent races created by the engineers. Maybe they were trying to breed the perfect host. If there are at least 2 intelligent life forms in the Alien universe, it doesn't mean there can't be thousands of them....

People we need to take a step back and approach Prometheus with common sense... Yes, I am not the first or last to say that RS is a king among sci-fi/horror directors... However, his story of Prometheus is only 2 hours longs... So, I would not expect as intricate of story as some make it out to be... All this talk of bio-mechanoids-genetic-virology is just ridiculous... I laugh at all the posts trying to decipher all the little details. If you enjoyed the Alien "triology" as much as I still do then we don't need to concern ourselves with the small details because we all know Prometheus will be great!
I will not go into the AvP series because I am confident it will not be reflected at all in Prometheus. Furthermore, Paul W.S. Anderson ruins anything he touches.

I like Alien. That is it. The rest are shit. Yes, all of them.
Ripley says it is epic and about everything, so why not think big.
Bigger then a thinly disguised remake of "Alien", except with marines and a lot more "bugs". Which is all "Aliens" is, except with a really lame mother daughter story attached onto it as Cameron understand that that draws in the female crowd. Aliens hits every major plot point that Alien did. Start with character in status, Distress call, dropship, discovers life forms, they run and hide from life forms, discovery that the company wants samples and they are expendable, think they have gotten away after a huge explosion, alien is still alive, they blast it out the air lock.

Yep, Shane, and FW...."Aliens" was "Alien" dumbed down and "Incorporated" for the masses...
We have been waiting for a Truly compelling, smart, sci-fi film like Prometheus since A.1...this is gonna be one helluva ride...
April 30, 2012
Otto I think you are right too and not only because you have a nice smile....it's been a very long time since A.I. too long, and that empty dry spell is about to end. I may have whacked out ideas about the movie, but I know for sure that this film will not only go off the map, but draw a new one as well.

I seem to remember an interview back when Alien first came out that someone (it may have been Ridley, himself) theorized that the SJ species was involved in a war with another group of extraterrestrials and the eggs were a weapon against that group and the weapon "backfired". Or, the eggs were a weapon against the SJs from the other race. I'm thinking Ridley's going back to that theory here that there are two groups (possibly more?) of species involved in a war against each other and the humans get caught in the middle. Maybe they're not even at war but in some sort of competition with each other for colonization (like Weyland vs. Yutani). Just a theory.
