Face of the Xeno (Picture)

Trouble is.....whatever is stood before him seems to be wearing a helmet of somekind. You did give me hope for about a second though lol

Yes i think its a Jockey not a xeno.....remember the xeno has no eyes or nose. And the helmet or back of it looks layered like its constructed. In fact.....it looks like melted face........so the helmet melting doesnt kill the guy it seems. If you look closely as it stands up youll see it looks melt damaged around the edges.

@mark Caweley We don't know in which kind of lifeform the infected crewmember(s) turn into. In the picture it's definitley a crewmember not a jockey (you can see it when you watch the trailer with whole picture). So your latter assumption is right I guess. I believe the final stage of transmutation caused by the hug from the cobraish thing isn't revealed in the trailers but we can see an intermediate state here. The physiological shape of a humans head turns into something more rounded, greyish... an xeno protoform of some kind is what we see, maybe.

It's the catalyst to the bio-mech transformation He's merged with his suit perhaps. Bio meets mechanical in that way? Definitely melted face Milburn

absolutely correct nostromo! it had 2 eye cavities and a nasal cavity covered by a "jelly like sensory organ". as explained by ridley himself. supposedly this large organ could sense sight, sound, smell, so on. in alien the organ was soft but in aliens it was replaced with a harder ridged boney looking head.

Very perceptive, Aquila 210. Actually there is a reflection of the thing´s face. It also pays a tribute to Scott´s atention to the detail, because it is almost certainly a CGI work.

I see a huge eye in a froglike face. It is more reminiscent of ET, in fact...

It resembles the creature in the Mural. (the one with the bald guy extending his arm onto the creatures head)

Aquila, is there a way you can circle or highlight where you see the reflection of the face. I see two possible obscured faces there, but I'm not sure if I'm seeing what you're seeing. Everyone here that sees something might be agreeing with you and each other, but may not be seeing the same thing. It would be nice to know that we're all on the same page.

Look in the upper-two-thirds of the left half of the picture. First find the shiny nose reflection then look down for the mouth and up for the eyes.

Looking at the trailer frame by frame I have noticed that there is no movement in the reflection. Meaning there is no reflection of the face of the person but just reflection of the background. Maybe a flaw. If I ignore my reasoning then all I see is a skull-like face reflected on the left side of the helmets glass.

I see one large eye socket, nose cavity and a row of gnarley teeth !!

The guy doesn't look like he's looking at a creature, he looks like he's confronting someone who owes him five bucks and refused to pay up. Please no more mention of predators, I like that franchise but if there's a predator creature in Prometheus I'm going to stop going to the movies and burn my dvd collection.

Yeah, I see it. It's wearing a white ascot too. And if you look at the top, it also has a beanie or something on.

There couldn't logically be a reflection on the left side of the helmet glass from something just to the left of the camera, which is where this creature is. Light from the creature would reflect of the left half of the helmet glass at a large angle and head off over the guys right shoulder. Light reflected back to the camera would have to reflect off of the middle of the helmet.

Whiskuz, unless it was added by CGI. Then they could just do what they want. You never know, the CGI guy could've been thinking about the lighting the same way you're describing and then just said f*&$ it and called it a day. LOL This is like trying to find images in the leaked trailer; I think our imaginations are filling in what we want to see and not what may be there.

I need at least to clarify now what I see from this, that made me start the topic: [img]http://www.folko.de/images/xenoface.jpg[/img] I see a head with one eye (the other one hidden), a nose and a mouth, very human, but changed into grey colour and phyyiological shape much more rounded, egg headish - some transition phase has started: [img]http://www.folko.de/images/xenoface2.jpg[/img] The angle of the reflection would match with a person standing before the helmet a bit better than the other findings, which I didn't saw at all. Based on the last trailer where we see the helmet melting this may not be a result of a mutation but instead a guy with his flesh burned down to his skull with a layer of molten "Nano-reinforced composite". In that same seen right when he looks at this guy you can see the charred shoulder and charred side of the crew member in questions helmet.

I think NC77 is right. Also, this guys expression says "Man, you poor bastard. Glad it wasn't me though." a lot more than "Whoa, dude just turned into a freakin xeno frog." I would think the latter would be a little more pronounced than the expression we see here.
