David8 Has A Crush On Shaw?

aka Nate
MemberOvomorphApril 30, 20122378 Views32 RepliesI know, I know.... But I couldn't help notice in the UK trailer that David's got his funky Google Glasses on and he's looking down at Shaw's cryo-tube and he removes the tint to see through to her....
....maybe nothing, right? But immediately following that quick shot, we see the entire crew's cryo-tube lids opening to wake and everyone has their yellow/green neon tint....
....or maybe he does that to every crew member.....would make for wicked tension with Holloway's character though.

I think the glasses allow him to monitor their dreams. That would account for the weird look he's giving her. Forget where I heard that though...

Maybe not a sexual/romantic crush but more of the way a boy would look up to his mother for support or comort?

He definitely has a childlike fascination for aesthetic beauty. A curiosity, perhaps? Notice how he is fascinated by the "dancing goo" on top of the urn that likely is what gets the whole group into trouble? He's fascinated by Noomi's bio, her beauty, her simple aesthetics. He's discovering his feelings. I can buy that, Nate...

lol..... I think it very well could be sexual... There's even a deleted scene in Alien where while whispering with Ripley, there's implications that (I forgot her name) the chick with the blonde short hair might have slept with Ash prior to the events of the Nostromo.... What I meanis, how deep do you think the engineers of 'Artificial Humans' delved into the psyche of these beings.... Perhaps they're less robot and more artificial human than we think.... or maybe it's an unexpected side effect.... or maybe it's an exclusive thing for this particular David8 model.... Or maybe, Or maybe,Or maybe,Or maybe,Or maybe,Or maybe,.....

there is a clip from the room where they all gather and vickers says something like "my job is to make sure do yours". david is talking to shaw when they walk to sit, and when she rises up he is looking at her.
could be a clue.
ALIENS THINK HUMANS ARE ALIENS

Of course he likes Shaw, he even gets straight to the point in the trailer;
David to Shaw
- Big things have small beginnings" *unzips*

There are actually two deleted scenes (1 shown on the DVD and the other never shown but mentioned) regarding sex onboard the Nostromo in Alien:
1) (the one you see) Right after Dallas died in the vents, Lambert (the other female) gets reassured by Ripley. She asks her if she and Ash ever had sex. She didn't. This was going to be another clue that Ash isn't human. One of the first obvious clues was when he did some weird running in place in the bridge much earlier and arguably an earlier "nod" would be him diving for the milk during the early breakfast. Scene was removed because it slowed down the pacing and really didn't add anything important.
2) (the one you don't see) The hallway scene where Ripley shuts the door on Dallas blocking his exit. They were going to add dialogue/acting (may have been shot, may not have been) inferring a romantic relationship between Dallas and Ripley. Dallas was quite her senior, btw. Regardless, they decided not to add that aspect to the story for it would have been an unnecessary distraction.

Shame is phenomenal. Just read about it before you dive in. It's basically a 2 hour Fassbender monologue, but a FANTASTIC acting treatise...

Thanks for the tip Otto. Well I'm glad Ridley decided to cast Fassbender for this role, he's a great actor, to say the least. Totally convincing as a robot.

Shame and Drive were my two favorites of 2011. I will watch any film Steve McQueen (no, not from Bullitt) makes from now on.

Fascinating possibility. She is probably the one who treats him the most humanely. Vickers seems to loathe/fear him and Holloway treats him with contempt.
Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!
