Release dates for Indonesia?

Do any of you guys have information about Indonesia's release date and rating? I've got a few friends there (love the country to bits myself) but hardly anyone down there has got a clue, let alone knowing about Prometheus in the first place! How is that possible? Did a long search myself, without success... I assume it'll be around the international release on June, the 7th or 8th? It's a fairly big country with a fast growing economy. I asked my peeps down there, who blog a lot and surf the net - nothing. No promotions, no articles, 2D/3D cinema's not listing it, just as if didn't even exist! Dates are all set for Australia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan, neatly surrounding Indonesia. Anyone?

Hello :) i'm from Indonesia. I live in Jakarta. I can't wait to see the movie, since i saw the trailer in hbo last month, i googled it and i came across the viral video thing on youtube.

So there I was, browsing while I'm having my jumbo pack of IndoMie and WOW, someone has finally heard my desperate voice!! Terima kasih ya? Apa kabar? So what's the story down there in Indonesia, why is there so little advertising in cinemas, on the internet and in the national press? Do they show any trailers? Well, first of all welcome to the forum, you have found the right place to be when it comes to Prometheus and everything you want to know about it. But also be careful about what threads you read from now on, unless you want to be spoiled. Do you know the release dates for Indonesia, do people talk about it and if so, in what way? What are people's expectations? Please share...

Hey HAL. Yes they do show trailers here in Indonesia but only in selected cinemas, I guess people here are not too keen on Ridley Scott's return to Science Fiction. People here don't talk about Prometheus, instead they talk about Snow White and the Huntsman. Shame, I know. Anyway, from what I saw, Prometheus will be released in Jakarta on June 8th *fingers crossed*. Personally, I can't wait to watch it and I expect this film to be in the same vein of Alien wherein the building of the suspense was just superb, I hope this will be another classic by Ridley Scott! Haha, you're making me all wheepy here, pls stop it! I spent two solid weeks of my one-month vacation in Lombok! First up north in Senggigi, then moved down to Kuta beach/south Lombok... then, believe it or not I went back to Bogor/Bandung but via Jogja (3 day stay). And as for the food, it's the best I ever had in my life, it has pushed Thai food way down my top 10 list. Especially Sate with plenty of Bumbu Kacang, Mie Goreng Ayam, Rendang, Nasi Goreng, Lumpia, Krupuk, Martabak, Gado2, and Onde2!! Lombok is my kinda place man, thanks for reminding me...

@HAL : No worries! Yes I know, it's a shame that people now prefer mindless action movies instead of Intelligent Sci-Fi that actually make the audience speculate and come up with their own theories, but yes I will be hoping that Prometheus will stir some kind of interest here in Indonesia. It's nice to see someone from outside the country to actually visit other places in Indonesia other than Bali ! Anyway, if you are visiting Indonesia again, I recommend Lombok (Clean, beautiful beaches), Yogyakarta (Heart of Indonesian culture) and Makassar (Best seafood in Indonesia) :D

@The Pilot: Thanks so much for the reply and update my fellow Promethian! I'm glad to know that there's at least three peeps down there fanatic about it. It's a shame that the 'deeper-meaning' Sci-Fi genre doesn't seem to enjoy more popularity in Indo but let's see if Prometheus will be able to change that! P.S: Been to JKT once and was so happy to get out of it, only to indulge myself in Novotel Bogor's nice pool, then off to explore Puncak/Gede. Absolutely love your country man! Hope to be able to return soon...
