MemberTrilobiteMay-01-2012 1:50 PMI believe the Space Jockey vessel known as the Derelict/Juggernaut is...
...A female symbiotic bio-mechanical lifeform, that is/was bred by the Space Jockey's for the purpose of deploying Alien/Xenomorph eggs where needed.
I believe they are living creatures because it would make more sense to grow or breed your technology than to construct it.
I believe they are female for 3 obvious reasons, plus another - their underbelly section is essentially a bio-mechanical surrogate womb used to store and protect Alien/Xenomorph eggs.
I believe they are symbiotic, requiring a pilot to fully function. Without a pilot they enter a form of hibernation where they remain inactive put continue to support any eggs within their womb.
Of course this begs the question, where/what are the males - another type of vessel we haven't seen yet, or maybe (and more disturbingly) the Space Jockeys.

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 1:57 PMAlso she has 3 vaginas. Don't forget. They probably don't have males, they use us for fertilization.

MemberTrilobiteMay-01-2012 2:01 PMThose are the 3 reasons I inferred to RickK, I was being subtle.

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 2:02 PMI do agree with you about one specific thing and that is the ship it's most definitely living being.... Does it breed specifically Xenomorphs? Doubt it. Does it breed at all? I actually think would be an awesomely original, not to mention unexpected, idea if it bred something important.... Like Engineers, maybe....but I'm just talking out loud.

Gavin
MemberTrilobiteMay-01-2012 2:06 PMI never meant that it bred Xenomorphs, just that its womb can support them.
I actually imagine that the ships breed either with their captive SJ pilot, giving birth to either another ship (female) or an SJ/Engineer (male), or with another entity all together.

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 2:22 PMits true, women cannot function without men piloting them.

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 2:26 PMThey are a big son of a bitches! and they torture humans for being so insignificant and do not know how to use the power of life that you would use for bad this movie will be something never before seen by man. and the gods arent famele they are almost men if you see HR GIGER xenoform its like a famale i think its shawn or something came out of her.

MemberTrilobiteMay-01-2012 2:33 PM@ FFUK - (just realised when I shortened your name). And more disturbing the deeper you look into it.
If the vessel is the female and the SJ is the male, the male is not only inside the female but is eternally bound to and within her, exemplified by the S&M connotations of the SJ suit.
@ jchmtz - eh?

Gavin
MemberTrilobiteMay-01-2012 2:54 PMBut...
Does the Derelict/Juggernaut give birth to a single offspring at a time, like us
or
Does it lay a brood, possibly within eggs, like the Xenomorph/Alien?

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 3:40 PMThe 3 ports remind me of the cosmology in "The Book Of Enoch." There are many mentions of triple doors. I have also been reading "The Lost Book of Enki" and "The Emerald Tablets of Thoth" Lots of interesting ideas that might inform watchers of Prometheus.

Gavin
MemberTrilobiteMay-01-2012 3:58 PMThose three ports could be how they breed if another entity is involved

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 4:01 PMwhy was my comment removed about this being talk about before?

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 4:04 PMI agree that the Derelict / Juggernaut is a kind of progenitor of biomechanical life forms and this may be related to the Space Jokcey sacrificed (played by Daniel James).
OK, this is just a fan art but can graph the fact that a space jockey will serve as a guinea pig for the creation of a biological weapon, and the spacecraft is the true mother creator as it has the technology and DNA samples alien to meet this job...

But at the same time (as seen in the trailers) seems to be signs of a slaughter that extinguished most of this powerful race. I think it would be a civil war in which only survived a Space Jockey and this character incurcionar deside to Earth to repopulate the Earth and thus resurrect his ancient race ... but to realize it must first end the race indigina native of course ...
and perhaps this is a story about it:

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 5:04 PMNot sure where folks are getting the 'civil war' angle from. Evidence? We know that the Sj in "Alien" was the victim of a chestburster, ie: its' own technology.
Is there any evidence that the Sj facility has been attacked? Any demolished structures, blast evidence, etc.? I'm not saying it's impossible, but with what little we have in the way of real evidence, it seems more likely that they suffered an industrial accident of some kind.

MemberDeaconMay-01-2012 5:04 PMWell while we are allowed to discuss private parts on this thread....
Giger did describe the Chair as the Penis Chair did he not?
So maybe it is some kind of cannon?
I think while the Derelict is Bio Mechanical i would not go as far as to say its a complete living being as such.
I liken it to more or less what a Tortose or Snails Shell is.

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 5:15 PM@artyoh, Yeah, I was just speculating and it is very possible that it is as you say: a biological Chernobyl, in fact it is very easy to notice the inherent risks of being exposed to a biological weapons laboratory.
As for me, just say it could be possible that the Engineers / Space Jockeys used their biological weapon with any order (ok, maybe not in a civil war but against another race of space IMHO)

MemberOvomorphMay-01-2012 9:42 PMOK, maybe the idea of sacrifice is very AVP

but if you look at it from another point of view would be very Giger style. It's all part of creating the perfect soldier.

Another reason for a sacrifice could be the metaphorical aspect of the term Prometheus, a demigod helping humanity to be punished and then maybe the punishment will serve as a guinea pig to create the biological weapon that will destroy the human race. An ironic fate + the killing two birds with one shot.
