I can't understand why do you all want prometheus 2? Because I don't.

depending on how prometheus ends if there is still a story to be told and RS & only RS brings us a prometheus 2! no 1 would like to wate another 30 years for unanswered questions to be answers. but i see where you're comeing from. keep prometheus a stand alone film and not a franchise. Hopefully it ties into the original & there wont be a need for a second movie... who knows tho if this film is a roaring successes at the box office, you can be assured FOX is going to want a second movie or even a 3d n 4th................

As the release date approaches I have the feeling that there won't be anything else to look forward to after seeing Prometheus. But I am pretty sure that the discussions on this forum will go on, at least for a while, and will be rekindled by the home video and various books. Any potential rumours of sequels or tie-ins (i.e. Prometheus vs Gremlins) will keep the discussion going on further. Anyway Screw Prometheus 2, I want Prometheus 3!

@seanb1888 Thats a great point... Because if the movie does great but Ridley thinks he gave it closure and does not want to do a number two. Well if Fox own the Rights to movie, they could go and make a number 2 i supose and bring who ever they want in. Ridley does not have a say in if Fox wants to make Alien 5, Alien 6 or Aliens vs Terminator lol. I dont know how much controll or ownership Ridley has over this movie franchise?

didnt RS said that the ending goes its own way after the tie-in with alien and that there could be more stories following the new direction?

@bigdave and @tutelo: yes, RS has said he's already engaged in conversations to do the next one, that he's pretty much ready to go and has the story. Can't remember the details, but it was some interview panel---maybe a comic convention type thing?

If RS does the sequel, and there will be a sequel because this movie will not suck then it will not suck either. And before anyone speculates whether it will suck or not, no matter what, it will NEVER reach the suck level of mass effect 3 endings.

This is a great site and I'm very appreciative to have found it!! Thank you so much Bug Hunter! In regards to a possible sequel, let's all see how this one works first. We'll need time to digest what we've seen so that when(or if) a sequel is greeenlit, as fans we will be ready for another round in the Alien Universe. But, come to think of it, a sequel to this film would round out the Alien saga in its own way by making it an unofficial trilogy if you will...Truth be told, I would rather see a Prometheus sequel versus a Blade Runner sequel...

rumours ive heard are jiimy cameron doing alien 5 at the same time as ridley doing another prometheus where it goes back further, now that shit would be insane 2 of the best in the buisness going right back and further forward at the same time to totally blow everyones minds, insane
