how weird the film launches in belgium and france 3oth may, Hollywood seriously needs to wake up, shitting on american audiences is not cool.
May 02, 2012
Normally it's us here in Europe, who is being shat on, so please relax folks. We're used to that amount of shite. It's not always sunshine in life... ;)

Oh well, it's not the end of the world.
Unless, of course some Engineers show up and intervene with the NA audience's viewing pleasure. I imagine they'd barge in after they tell everyone in the theatre to turn of their mobile devices. Staying on guard to watch over the audience in case someone decides it would be OK to send a quick text; ripping their head off after the fact.
But no, seriously... This is the only example of NA audiences getting a movie latter, rather than earlier. Only a week or so, meh... Doesn't bother me too much. I'm extremely excited for this movie. Achin' to see Engineers.

i have planned to block off this site for the week leading up to
June 8th. it's going to be a bit of a nightmare, since i have visited
this site on a daily basis since November of last year
but, better to do that, then read some major info and spoil it
for myself, and impede the excitement of seeing what is left to
unfold on that nice big IMAX screen, in that cool dark theater...
May 02, 2012
Best just to stay off the site for that week, don't look on the internet, watch the news, talk to your friends.
In fact I'm gonna try hiding under a rock until the film is out.
May 02, 2012
I can't get to see it until June 4th earliest, so I'm having an embargo on site visits and I also promise not to post anything until well after the US screening.
The tension and excitement is building, just witness the discussion forums over the past few days.

What is it with our American friends.......they seem to want want want everything first. Just once a major major blockbusting ass kicking movie opens in Europe first and they all seem up in arms about it lol.
Relax......if you see anyone giving away spoilers after the release date then its as easy as NOT viewing the threads isnt it?
You can rest assured i will NOT be giving anything away......ill just be sat quietly sniggering to myself lol watching you all still trying to work it out.
Dont worry.....its not the end of the world.....thats not until November.
Now ya know how i felt waiting for The THING for nearly 3 months after the USA saw it first lol.
May 02, 2012
Probably Fox choose the launch schedule based in the fact (?big if?) that american audiences are more spoiler-resistant than audiences from other countries...maybe.
May 02, 2012
Although after the rest of the world has seen the movie i think this site will STILL be a hive of activity......remember we`ll be discussing the BluRay release by then lol.
I mean i still visit The THING website

It is a shame that it isn't a synchronised worldwide release. The only reason I can think of as to why the film is getting a 1st June release here in the UK is that it is a holiday weekend, with most folks going back to work on Wednesday 6th, so everyone has a free weekend plus Monday and Tuesday off work, so the cinemas will more likely be busy = more money in its opening few days. I for one will not be posting any spoilers after I see it on the 2nd, but will still visit the site to have a read. But not from 29th May to the 2nd!!

Thank god i'm in america june 7th to june 15th. Release date in germany: august 9th! What the hell!?!
I mean they can do this with the whole "transformers"-like crap, when i don't really care about getting spoiled...for it's kinda all the same.
But don't mess around with movies like "Prometheus".
Fox really is taking the risk of "Prometheus" becoming a comparativly financial disaster here in germany.
May 02, 2012
Simple solution for spoilers:
On OSX/UNIX/Linux edit the file /etc/hosts and add the following line at the bottom:
www.prometheus-movie.com 127.0.0.1
On Windows edit the file "hosts" located at Windowssystem32driversetc
Add a line at the bottom:
127.0.0.1 www.prometheus-movie.com
You've now blocked this website on your computer ;)

This is all because Obama want's us Americans to be lowered to the European level of expectations:O)
May 02, 2012
There are some very popular European actors in the film, I'm not surprised it will debut there first. They may feel the movie is more hyped and will do better there, in which case of course they'd debut it there, you don't want your target audience being the ones getting online n spoiling it before they see it.
May 02, 2012
Well i wont give any....
As i know what Spoilers can do, from when the Americans unleashed plenty with The Thing and we had to wait 11 weeks and not just 7 days lol..
I think some would be respectfull but you cant rule out spoilers if i was from the States or if this movie came out in the USA a week earlier i would just avoid this site and the internet for a week ;)
R.I.P Sox 01/01/2006 - 11/10/2017

Well im british and dont worry i wont ruin it for you...all i put is WOW!!! then youll be even more excited!!!
Its a robot...ash is a goddamn robot!

It's a business trend.
Hollywood has determined there is a bigger profit margin in releasing films to international markets first.
The Avengers also opened in the UK a week earlier than the US.
