MemberOvomorphMay 06, 2012858 Views12 Repliesafter the the revelations in Alien:resurection that wal-mart brought out weyland-yutani, is it possible that the xeno in the near future is a delacacy, a meal for the rich to feed on. The french eat frogs, the chinese eat dogs do americans ultimatly succumb to feasting on Xeno burgers and steaks. do mcdonalds start a range of Big xeno and fries? stranger shit has happened,I WOULDNT PUT IT PAST fox STUDIOS TO ULTIMATLY TAKE THE FRANCHISE DOWN THE MCDONALDS ROUTE THEY ULTIMatly whore everything else of substance and value. Im dreading one day hearing this news: FOX GREENLIGHTS ROBOCOP Vs ALIEN

Apparently, you might vomit when you see this, they want to go back and re-make Robocop.
Can anyone say "Milking it"?

3 movies from the 80s i always thought where good that would be hard to recreate today with the same impact and atmosphere when they where released, 1 is Total recall, the other Predator and 3rd Robocop. all the new AVP stuff and Predators lacked the punch the original Predator had, from what i see of Total recall it looks like its another souless cgi fest that loses all the qualities of the original. I am not optomistic about Robocops remake.

I think it all matters on the director, if Ridley scott or James cameron get involved you know your going to get something that has atmosphere and depth but when its the top 15 hollywood hot list directors you usually get a cgi souless movie thats full of predictable nonesense.

Big 'splosions and Michael Bay crap is all they rely on now. No heart or story anymore.
It's no wonder I don't spend any money at the cinema anymore, I'll make 3 exceptions this year though....
1) Prometheus (der) and that I'll be seeing at least twice, 1 3D 1 2D for sure, maybe more 2D if it's as awesome as I'm hoping.
2) The Dark Night Rises, cause I wanna see how that trilogy ends
3) The Avengers, which I may go see this afternoon. Wanted to wait till Prometheus first, but I can live with it ;-)

If i was the Ceo of Fox i would start planning for Prometheus 2 and at the same time for someone to go the other end of the franchise and do Alien 5,
call it ALiEN:RESURFACE resurection was 200 years into the future from 3 so id make resurface 200 years after that. id have it so that the comment about weyland being brought out by walmart was a joke just so ripleys clone did not feel suspicious about the Company still running things. 4oo years after alien i would have a planet that weyland has built up like a metropolis its like a utopia full of peace, wealth and unity but an ancient ship delivers a cargo to the planet and withing 3 years 5 billion souls are destroyed and theres a ravaged planet infested with alien dna and mutants fighting to wipe out the last 1 billion human survivors. we then find out that Weyland actually sent the ship so they could write off the planet as a Universal tax loss and it begins an intergalactic war with planet earth which is now loose of the evils of Weyland-Yutani Universal Corp

at the end of the movie we see a Godlike figure appear from the heavens, its the Imortal Peter Weyland son of Prometheus.

@DOLFINESQUE,,,I can't believe they remade Total Recall but I'm sure I'll end seeing it due to my husband's love for Kate Beckinsale, lol. At least Colin Farel is in it, though after this and starring in Fright Night's remake I'm hoping he finds his way back to original cinema.
@Cypher, I so rarely go to the theater to see films anymore either. It's bloody expensive. I try to go only for quality films!
