Spoiler? Another thought on 8 minute ending tiein

like they did in terminator salvation with arnold. isnt it a bit korny? its maby a good idea if you want to make that kind of movie. but my hopes has always been that they stay away from all the cheap tricks. people really wants this movie to be a direct and clear prequel, leading them all the way from the beginning up until the events in alien. The Nostromo ship is not important, its just a mining ship. and the events in prometheus will probably be too grand for it to even be of relevance. ( i read in another tread that someone actually tought prometheus was a remake of alien) Prometheus is about the origins of man. Alien is about a mining ship that gets invaded by an alien. This is its own movie. It takes place in the same universe as alien, and some of aliens elements are in it, but it is its own movie.

If there's going to be a sequel, which he's already expressed his desire to do, then the end will not tie directly into Alien.

I have said this a few times and some now say that this will not have much or nowt to do with Alien..... I agree the main movie will not, well not as far as the Xeno. But i think this movie will explain the Xeno the Derelict on LV426 etc. Just not set in the same time frame. We have Shaws Dream where she is 10 years old with her now dead Father, thats in the movie does it directly effect the plot not really. Is Shaws dad going to be on LV223 not at all. We have the Water Fall Scene that apears to be set a long long time ago and maybe on Earth at the dawn of our creation, is it connected to the plot yes in away. But its not set in time frame this scene is not set in any of the crew of Prometheus lifetime. But it will be a important scene in the movie. And thus i think a scene that shows the Derelict from Alien, and explain how it landed on LV426 and why it has Eggs on it would be explained, just as in a scene thats a visual narative like the Water Fall scene. It may not show how the Xeno was created, it may not show the Jockey getting Chest Bursted. At best it may show it take off and maybe give reason why, and then show Eggs, and then show something happen and show that one Eggs comes open, maybe Pilot then goes to explore to see whats happened, maybe he stayed in his chair and the Organism is shown going to him. Thats what i think will happen, this will explain Alien but it wont need to go into details and its event does not effect directly Prometheus allthough it may have something to do with why maybe Jockeys seem all but dead and running scared. This scene will link to Alien, it will link in a way to maybe what happend to the Jockeys but i could be wrong. But this scene will not happen as a result of the Prometheus Crews landing on LV223 or any events during their time by their actions and interaction with the Urns, the Cobras, the Jockeys etc. Thus the Squid Baby is not a Proto Xeno it could be the birth of a new Alien Xeno Organism that Ridley can explore and evolve in future films and thus shut the door on the Xeno and maybe Engineers after this movie.

@esoteric If they do plan a sequel to Prometheus, it dosent have to end in chronological order. P1 can end with the last 8 minutes tying into Alien (1979). Dont forget alien occurs 30 year later. In P2 they can send a second ship to investigate why they never returned. That second ship could also dissaper and so WT sends the Nostromo to investigate which happens to be in the general vicinity as an act of desperation, for quick recon.

Its maby a ship trying to escape LV223 but the pilot dies (chestburster) and crashes on LV426. I read that what they meet in prometheus is a survivor of a civilisation(that has gone under i presume). Maby big dave is right.

How dare you Blake it's Sigourney Weaver not singorna you wouldn't miss spell your own mother's name now would you? Learn it well if you call your self a fan and NO this is it's own movie and I don't think the forced landing of the Derelict on LV- 426 will be the focal point of this movie I think that all it means is that we will finally get some answers perhaps in the form of a brief narrative that lets us know how, who, where, why?

Hmm, if we have to have a Ripley cameo, I hope it's more along the lines of Shaw, having survived the ordeal, back on earth giving a presentation about history to a group of 3rd graders...little Ellen Ripley is among the children, raising her hand to ask a question. Fade. End. :)

Don't forget for Alien Resurrection they created models of a much younger Ripley being incubated. Back to that imagery, but updated with the techniques used in Terminator Salvation?

And then Danny Glover will come out and say that he's getting too old for this shit.
