MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 1:46 AMdid anyone ever discuss that maybe the scene where milburns gets that snake shoved down his throat, and then the scene where he's having his face disolved by acid might be different scenes.
maybe thats ridleys scotts kick this time, it plants the embryo in you and crawls out and away, and then later on your head and chest disolves with acid, while it busts out
thoughts?

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 1:57 AMAnd meanwhile the snake-thing curls up and goes to sleep in his helmet.
Nah, I think some else gets the acid bath, Milburn was wearing a cap and glasses and there aint a sign of them in the dissolved helmet, the nose definition is quite clear though, nor the in the smoking-helmet scene. Anyway it seems quite clear, from what we have been allowed to see so far, the snake goes in, makes a deposit, and comes smashing out from Milburns mouth, making a beeline from Kate Dickies gob.
I think this thing is taking out two thirds of the excursion crew and changes with each attack, possibly the cobra-alien is just the carrier of a number of different biowepons, similar to the facehugger but much quicker and devastating. This possibly wiped out the original engineers. A runaway bio weapon that evolves from a cute glove puppet look-alike to .....?

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 2:04 AMDifferent scenes and people, Fifield is the one with the face getting dissolved from the outside after Milburn says cut it off, he attempts to do so and has the acid blood spray on his face.
Later on after its killed Milburn you see whatever it is jump out at possibly Ford and it doesn't look like there's been acid in the helmet. Check the scene whoever it is is obviously standing, Milburn ends up on the floor once it goes down his throat.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 2:11 AMIt's already been discussed on here in a few threads I think and it's defiantly 2 different people getting acid to the face.
1) we see Fifield without his head cap sprayed in the face with acid. His forehead and red Mohawk are visible. Milburn can be seen in the left hand side of the clip and pics screaming(glasses clearly visible)
2) we also see a second crewmen with acid to his head and his plexiglass helmet melting to his face, his glasses are clearly visible through the melting plastic.( milburn is only crewman we see with glasses and him and Fifield find the cobralien)
My thoughts are...
they find the cobralien
Milburn touches it and it latches on his arm
Fifield tries to help and it tightens breaking milburns arm
Fifield tries to cut the creature off milburn and is sprayed with acid
The cobralien enters milburns suit and then his body
In the struggle to enter his mouth it is cut or wounded perhaps and acid sprays on milburns helmet as well, it melts to his face.
We then later see him dead on the ground with a huge hole in his mask and something(the hammerpede) shoots out of his mouth. I thought it shot at ford BUT I'm starting to believe its holloway who takes it in the face knocking him back and that's when we see the scene with his eyes all messed up.

You can see in the tv spot where it goes in his mouth there's no acid or anything, i think its a completely different scene and character.
Also the person it jumps at has longish hair so its not Holloway.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 4:06 AMIf its acid......it should kill them.....i dont believe its acid but some catalyst that starts them changing into whatever.

MemberDeaconMay-18-2012 5:44 AMYou see guys this sequence is the one you should ask in detail to those who claim to have seen the movie....
Because i am telling you it does not add up....
Anyone can say this...
Milburn grabs snake it goes into his suit, it goes into his mouth, he falls over and it jumps out of his mouth and either onto Fifields mask, first maybe over Fords shoulder, maybe gets into Fifields suit and explodes...
Look at every shot, lissen to the Audio and there is a lot thats not shown about this sequence that does not add up.....
There is more to it than meets the eyes, and i am gonna stick my neck out and say that the Face Melt Scene happens either before the Milburn Face Burster one, or is not connected to that same Snake....

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 5:48 AMI'll say it again. You can see Milburn to the left of the guy clutching his helmet as it sizzles. And through the smoke on the very same shot you can see a red mohawk and a small tattoo on the eyebrow. One of the first images we were ever shown.

MemberDeaconMay-18-2012 6:24 AMWell does that sugest that Fifield gets it first....
Because in another scene when Milburn gets startled by the Snake as he goes to touch it, we can see Fifield behind him....

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 7:01 AMAll the aliens in this take you over like the thing i rekon. milburn and the rest of the survey team all get fried back at the ship by vickers. the fried helmet scene is probable flame thrower rather than acid. i can see lots of carnage in this but not by aliens but by axe wielding crew members. maybe thats where things go wrong. ET wants to go home.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 10:44 AMOk, here is what I can perceive from all the footage combined.
Milburn gets the Hammerpede (cobra) into his suit, then enters his mouth. The cobra deposits something (egg, virus, dna, who knows). MIlburn vomits acid from his mouth but is contained within the helmet. Immediately it begins to melt the glass and then falls back on his face and melts his face too.
Evidence;
1. If you pay attention nothing is shot at him, it originated from within the helmet. For the split second that the acid is on the surface of the helmet we do not see smoke on the outside but on the inside.
2. We also see him touch his helmet immediately after exposure. The natural reaction when wearing a helmet or face plate and something is shot at your face is not to touch the helmet.
3. Had he been sprayed from an exterior point of origin, the melting of the helmet would not have been so localized other parts of his suit would also be melting. And in the clip it is very much contained within the helmet.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 11:03 AMGreat Speculations!
The only thing I think I can agree with is that the acid/acid-like-substance is indeed inside the helmet/visor since the smoke is on the inside.

MemberOvomorphMay-18-2012 11:30 AMbut it's not, it's on the outside...note the smoke on the outside, and the glasses on the figure to the left
