Real set???

i know that all of the sets are real, but the scene of the jockey chair rising out of the floor a real set? not the set itself, just the jockey chair, is that done with cgi or did they really build that? i used to think it was just cgi until i found out that the one set in Indiana Jones 4 (the temple thing with the 4 pillars that rise up and break the floor open, cant find a pic) was a real set, idk how they did it but that was not cg, so i have no idea if this is cg or not. what do you think???

In the latest featurette we can see the chair being built. In other pictures we can see the same set without the chair, so I assume that the rising effect was added via cgi, otherwise they would have needed a set building much higher just to fit the chair underneath.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

It looks real to me. If it's CGI, it's the best I've ever seen I must say.......

The chair in its final position is real. The animation of it rising out of the floor is CGI.

Then THAT is impressive CGI. I hope the Jockey-Bonding with the chair ends up looking as real as that............

Movies now do blend the real probs with CGI, if done well its great if done bad can be dispointing. This movie is very well polished and will look great.

only the good movies blend the real with the cgi, like Jurassic park. lots of movies dont though and it looks like utter crap :(
