I keep getting confused by the posts that infer the Blue Guy's are different from the SJ's. I think it's pretty clear that the Blue Guy's are the SJ's, only they are wearing their travel attire. The suits hanging up in the corridor where Shaw is exploring indicates this, and the Blue Guy walking toward the SJ chair tells me HE is going to get in it! They are one and the same:O)

I disagree, I think that blue guy is either a mutated crew member or the enemy of the SJ. The blue guy walks about without mask on, which leads me to believe he is genetically adapted to the planet's environment and the SJs were not. I say this as all the evidence we have, dead SJ, and holovision is that they always had their helmets on.

Ridley mentioned that what you see in Alien, sitting in the chair, was an entity with a biomechanical suit on. He wondered why know one ever asked who was inside that suit and where did they come from and why!

there's a set report in Empire magazine that says all the human crew are able to breathe the atmosphere in the tunnels, Holloway is the first to take his helmet off, so it wouldnt mean that the blue guy is any different from the jockeys in light of that. He still could be not a jockey, but not based on that premise. I'm wondering if their technology just activates parts of our not understood 'junk dna' that we all have.

I think that the best point in any of the films is when Dallas, Kane, and Lambert first see the SJ in the chair. If RS can make a better moment in Prometheus that becomes the seminal moment in all of the films I will be in awe. Thanks for discussing my thoughts with me:-)

If you havent read the full cast list then this may be a spoiler - you have been warned Cast list doesnt mention blue guy or space jockeys....just engineers, one and the same. Doesnt mean to say that the 'Last', 'Sacrifice' and 'Ghost' engineers are all bad, all good or theres one bad apple...but the elephant costumes are clearly suits (maybe needed to pilot the ship, or prevent contamination)

Well while i can not guess exactly the order and every detail i do think i have sussed out the plot, i think i would be at very least 75% correct of the basis and backbone. But with a writter from Lost on board well i could be mistaken. I mean it could be Space Smurfs that are born from when David has a fling with Shaws Baby lol.... I could post my idea, i have posted part of it over last few weeks and with the clues gathered over last week i think i rougly got a idea of it. It would be a epic essay mind and thats keeping it short. To clarify some parts though. The Bio Engineers are not mutated David, they are not Mutated Crew, they are the Blue Guy they are the Water Fall guy they stand between 9-10ft tall but who knows the one in Alien maybe 12ft but they are the same. Now maybe as a way out there plot, maybe there is a way the Engineer, Human, Andriod and Organism/Fire can all be added into a mixing bowl and create a new Engineer but certainly not that Blue Meanie guy we keep seeing. Maybe that mixing bowl could create the Xeno instead... but i am on the side of. 1) Engineers are Giant Humaniods and they are not created from us, we are created from them. 2) The Xeno was a experiment that either was planned but had undesired effects, or was not planned. And it eventually nearly killed all the Engineers off..... or indeed it was unleashed or created by one rogue mean Engineer to kill of his brothers and become God. I dont think the Derelict on this movie ends up on LV426, i think the one on LV426 was Piloted by another Engineer who wanted to get rid of the menace the rogue Engineer created, or he may had been the Rogue Engineer aka Mad Scientists Assistant. Thats my idea roughly about the Engineers, Derelicts and Xeno. I have others on the purpose of the Prometheus steal Fire, Weyland Agenda and reason for two Andriods, and i have a few guesses over Shaws Baby and conception and what the Cobra and Fifield Mutations are. But i shall save them for another thread. I think the last scene of this movie will be a flash back a visual narative to what the purpose and events that led to a Derelict landing on LV426 and it would also have another about the Water Fall and Creation of Man.

@JP Yes that list and also what is said by the special effects team basically gave away the questions over who and how many Engineers there are. I would say there is ONLY ONE Engineer in Prometheus in regards to the Movie Plot of real time event from when the crew land to when well the Derelict is hit by Prometheus. But this only the same context as the Derelict in this movie does not land on LV426 and the one that does it not shown in this movie as part of the actual real time events again from Prometheus landing untill destruction. What we will have is a mixture of flash backs/dreams and recordings like Shaws dream, this is the Hologram Scenes. The other scenes will be visual narative like the Waterfall scene. Oh and by that i mean these scenes will feature more than one Engineer and also the Derelict in Alien and its Cargo. But when the crew land on LV223 with Prometheus those other Engineers are long dead and the Derelict on LV426 would been there for a long time. Either that or if its not then Weyland goes to create Eternal Life for himself by trying to use the Engineers Secrets with another David 8 but it back fires and creates the Xeno. But i dont think thats the case...

@jp, Good move. But not definitive. If one of the races is pure CGI, and without human voices, there would not be credits for them.

Are some of you people that lame that you don't get the waterfall scene? The whole king thing and the UFO? The guy is an Earth leader (maybe Mayan or probably even older) who has been upgraded by the Engineers!

Its funny that there are still people Around still believing the blue tall guy Would not be the SJ. Ridley said the thing wec saw in alien was actually A suit. Get over with it.

But who ever said they were headed for Earth in the first place? I saw someone mention that the Engineers were involved in a war with another race entirely. Why couldn't the Derelict have been headed to that races homeworld if that WERE the case? Ridley never expanded on it beyond that to my knowledge. The original Alien might have been developed as their last ditch effort at ending that war, and ended up having it backfire on the pilot of the bomber.
