"where are they headed?" "Earth".... The only connection to Alien/Xenomorph could be that all ships are summoned for a bio-wipeout of Earth. Maybe containing lots of different warfare/creatures. One just happened to be on the neighbouring planet containing the eggs? But then why did that get destroyed? But who knows. Oh Ridley does, and then us in one months time.

Ridley has said he wants to make a few additional movies in the Prometheus universe. I don't think the link in Prometheus will not be direct link at all but more a reference to something that may lead to something happening in the future after his additional movies are made.
