Regarding our extinction (SPOILERS INSIDE)

First post! Gah! If the head is indeed David's, then maybe it's another David that made it to the planet first or long ago! Perhaps he knows this and seeks to "fulfill" his own missions; or perhaps he learns this and sees the Juggernaut as a golden opportunity to wipe out the civilization that created him/ his kind to only serve their needs. Perhaps it suggests a parallel between the engineers and humans that David can't reconcile: if the engineers bred these creatures for experimentation or destruction, then maybe he was bred for the same. He discovers some profound lack of correlation between his programmed purpose and the reason for his origin.

A head, which people who havent seen the film assume to be Davids is on the floor yes. And from what can be made out of it, it looks pretty much intact, not smashed to bits. We also don't kow if David can repair himself, or if he can still have the connection he had to the ship. In short we don't really know at all. neither do we know at which point in the film that shot is taken, it could be how the ship doesn't get to earth. There's nothing wrong with speculation, its just that there isnt much we do know for sure about this film after the first 20mins, context for the scenes and images we have seen is totally missing. thank god. So, was David specifically designed for the prometheus mission, is that what you're saying?lol lol From one of the articles put up here yesterday it said, by Ridley i think, that we are in the position of wanting to meet our creators, but David is already in that position, and knows how dismissive we are of him and the disdain with which he is treated. What might he do after he witnesses us kill the'superior species'? I don't know, but i know neither of you do either.

Hi, Mercenary7: I tend to agree with the Egg situation you described. Seems to be the logical thing to happen.

IMHO...Thousands of Vials of a Viscous "Bio-Former" fluid encoded to produce Xenomorphs on demand. But I am clearly n the minority with this opinion. Just the way I like It ! They Plan to Punish Humans and all of Mankind by Terra-Forming Earth!

It's possible she's not referring to the engineers at all and somebody else who's maybe commandeered the [i]Juggernaut[/i] or another ship, with the intention of going back to earth....and Shaw possibly feels this could become an extinction level event...or something 'earth changing'.... The point is, outta context we really can only speculate

@AlsoKnownAsNate Interesting! Maybe Vickers then? I never trusted her in the first place. Or Fifield? He's obviously not very kind towards the rest of the crew during his mutation.

Windwood: yeah, I bet that was what he was designed to do; go with an expedition to another planet and steal a spacecraft in order to go back and destroy Earth... lol
