The Amules The Statues The Chamber

My theory: Think of a zoo curator, not a zoo keeper but curator. This person would oversee and even selects the animals in the zoo having in depth knowledge of each creature in his care/possession. Knowing each animals abilities, weaknesses etc. he keeps them in their own areas for safety purposes. If we look at the info in all of the trailers we've seen thus far there is a Xeno statue and what appears to be a humanoid statue. I believe there may be more that we haven't seen in other sections of the temple. The curator would know the dangers and capabilities of the snake, lion, scorpion, spider, wolf, shark you name it. But, they are securely contained. So, think of what the curator, having so many deadly animals (aliens) in his possession and, being the only one left would have to do now that other life forms (namely us) are in the way releasing things and tampering. The ship is separate from the temple the Amules are in the temple but the Xeno’s eggs are in the ship in Alien. I believe the last SP, who was infected by a Xeno facehugger in the temple tries to fly the ship from the planet but that doesn't work out. However, the chestburster is a queen, melts the hole next the SJ's chair and lays hoards of eggs. The Xenos are just one of the many species in the temple but we may not see them until the very end or in a sequel. Just my opinion and I’m probably totally wrong but couldn't help but wonder. What do you guys think?

Great post! Is it amules or ampules, though? "I believe the last SP, who was infected by a Xeno facehugger in the temple tries to fly the ship from the planet but that doesn't work out. However, the chestburster is a queen, melts the hole next the SJ's chair and lays hoards of eggs. " We know this not to be the case by Ridley's own words. The ship is a bomber carry "egg-cargo" that had to "force-land" on LV-426. Sparty, has the link to the recent video interview. Now, the last SP (I think you mean SJ) very well could have been infected before by something that wasn't in his cargo BEFORE "force-landing" on LV-426, but we have the problem that the "derelict" has been sitting on LV-426 for a very, long, long, long time (way before the events in Prometheus). It would have been neat if it played out (I dunno, perhaps it will anyways) like: "I believe the last SP, who was infected by a Xeno facehugger in the temple tries to fly the ship from the planet but that doesn't work out. However, the chestburster is a queen, melts the hole next the SJ's chair and lays hoards of eggs. "...but, RS, would be stomping all over what was presented to us in Alien. Just my HO.

Nice hypothesis. But i am sure that Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof will astonish us with the Prometheus scenario.

Then are there two different planets LV-223 and LV-426? Did I miss something. How could the events in Alien happen long before the events in Prometheus? That would mean there are two derelict ships wouldn't it?

Maybe they have aquired the DNA of a wide plethora of diverse species from across the 'known galaxy' if that is where the samples originated. And it is possible that the beginning of all this with the stitching together to Alien is the Xenomorph genome is the one that escapes by the humans fiddling about with things htey do not as yet understand. Still, if that were true, it still doesn't explain why there would be all those eggs inside the ships lower silo-deck. Which then leads into the fact that something chestburst from the SJ's and either laid the egss in the silo being that was a Queen and for some reason left to perhaps start a colony elsewhere on the planet. The creature chestbursts and it somehow gets killed by a booby trap set by the SJ and as a result the acid burning (if it can burn through the alien s bio-technology) through the helm or control room 'causes' the ship to make an emergency landing or forced landing. But it looks like Janek rams it or from another smaller craft remote pilots the Prometheus into it from a position/vantage point further behind and the alien ship suddenly decends to the ground that way.
Then are there two different planets LV-223 and LV-426?
Yes
Did I miss something.
Possibly...
How could the events in Alien happen long before the events in Prometheus?
The Juggernaut (that's the derelict spaceship we saw in Alien and in the director's cut of Aliens) we see in Prometheus is much more advanced than the one we see it Alien. Imagine a black Ford from the 30s and compare it to one in 2012. Same basic car shape. Recent one much fancier. What we see in Alien/Aliens "derelict"-wise is like an old model Ford. Very advanced, but not as many bells-n-whistles. Why? Because it has been "derelict"-ing in the order of a million years. Where are the cob-webs and dust? Those happen on planets that have the correct atmosphere and support indigenous life. LV-426 was barren and had a non-breathable atmosphere. There was certainly "dust/dirt" on the ship's exterior, but the interior would have been free of such "aging" evidence. Our hint is the SJ fossilized into his chair (however, the SJ (or, to satisfy Pren, the SJ suit (not "suit")) may be silicone-based like the pilot inside & Xeno thus more prone to appear fossilized/petrified in a much shorter period of time).
That would mean there are two derelict ships wouldn't it?
Barring time-travel, I'd say so.

I'm still iffy on this, doesn't exlain the wond on the SJ chest then. Ugh this time of stuff makes my head swim. I would make me to believe there would definitley be a Xeno in this movie if it happened after Alien. Ridley said he wanted to tell the story of who the SJs were and what they were doing, ...that's why I'm iffy on two planets, two ships.

Wait @abordoli what you said makes sense. I believe David finds a very sophisticated black box recording of the SJs trying to leave the planet but they don't all make it, ...makes me think of Lambert's question "I wonder what happened to the rest of the crew?" This get's explained some how in Prometheus.

"I wonder what happened to the rest of the crew?" I like It! Remember that last line from an episode of Star Trek, where Kirk wonders how the gang led by Ricardo Montalban will be in another few decades. That last line led to a movie. The wrath of Khan. Mies

This has probably been touched on before, but one thing I first noticed in a very recent pic of the head/ampule room is that the ampules are definitely not all a uniform size. There are groups of smaller knee-high amules as well as larger ones. I'm not sure where that pic was from but I do think the different sizes probably mean that this a repository of diffrent types of biological/biomechanical nasties.
