Just thought it would be great to see who everyone would choose to direct a new film in the Weyland Universe (or Weyliverse).I know there has been similar threads on here but not many justify the reasoning behind the choices of director. First off if any sequel came about RS must be in a producing capacity. My choices would be; David Cronenberg because he loves films with humans mutating etc (The Fly, Videodrome) we could see some seriously freaky s**t there. Danny Boyle because the atmosphere he created in Sunshine with the atmosphere of a near deserted space ship also we know he can do monsters well with 28 Days later.

hi there friend ash'sbishop: I believe this question has already been raised not so long ago. Quite recently actually. I, for one, hope there is no sequel at all. The reason being that Sir Ridley seems to answer those questions left hanging since Alien [who is the SJ, why he was there, where he was going et al]. But as much as I love David Cronemberg and David Lynch, I would stick to Sir Ridley.

i can only see a sequel happenng if one of our guys (david) kills an Engineer. then I imagine theyd see us as a threat. But, why get ahead of ourselves, it's feasible the movie could stink (highly unlikely i know). if this is an ideas film then i think RS should direct a seuel, as he seems able to make something with ideas in it that doesn't bore the arse of peole, and uses ideas to frighten. there aren't many alive that can do that. I'd like to know when we can see the drafts of the scripts,after the movie, cos i'd put money on it that Lindelof has improved it no end.

whilst i think RS should direct, i think it should be written by sacha baren cohen, and star him too....

It certainly won't be James Cameron. He has just announced he will only make Avatar sequels until he dies. Whilst I like James and his Alien sequel and thought Avatar was good, I certainly don't think it deserves the number of sequels he plans to make. In terms of a Prometheus sequel, it should be Ridley again

Cohen could write it, agreed. But clearly Bill Bailey should be the lead character.

Yes it would be good as W2rh0und says if Ridley Scott is keen to get back to another Prometheus/Alien film after say Blade Runner then that would be good for the continuity flow of director, directors vision, and his overall imprint : 'stamp' upon it. I would be absolutely happy with that if Ridley is happy to do it as well then it is a win-win for he and fans alike! Sounds great!

I believe that they have already written the sequel. They had enough material for two movies anyways and just did the first part which will be Prometheus. I believe that Ridley will Direct the sequel with the same writer and actors. At least who is left to play a role since a majority will probably die in the film.
