so no one else saw the DNA creation?

MemberOvomorphMay 09, 20122463 Views28 Repliessaw all the new threads about the new origins video.... and no one said anything about the DNA creation shot, unless i missed it (tell me if i did) but i just had the need to point it out... i will make a screen cap and post it in a sec, hold on.....

Yeah I saw it too! I was super excited when I saw it, I knew they were going to have a practical approach to the science end of things. Not like The Thing prequel...

It is discussed in a thread HERE ... no in too much detail though ;) ...
I thought that about possible DNA too ... hence ...

Started discussing it here, but the thread is not named for it

well someone did mention it sort of on "two interesting snippets in "origins" featurette" post, but he referred to it as a sea creature, witch is what i thought it was at first also, but after examination it is 100% DNA strands forming. okay well its not HD or anything, but this is it:
it looks even more like DNA when its moving because you can see it spinning or "spindling" into that DNA shape. can someone make a GIF??? idk how to do that.

aw man :( beat me to it lol, i was still making my comment while you were posting so i did not see it :) so should this post be blocked? because the other page is about several things, not just that.

Maybe you should've read more than just the originasl post : P
I agree though, very interesting shot. A moving image does it more justice too. I'm thinking it's a sample of something from the temple the crew brought back to Prometheus to study. The nature of the organism (biotech?) causes it to grow/turn into something, or at least try.

I think this is an shot from the guy who will be infected. (a "in body shot" from is blood cycle where you see the DNA that let him go gollumish *g*)
In the backround you can see red blood cells, hm?
May 09, 2012
Hmmm could be? I took those for granted as peoples faces from outside a tank, and out of focus, but that it could very much be a microscopic interior body shot.

invaderzim42...
Haha ... I was actually creating more screenshots while reading these new postas ... and replying to you regarding about a possible duplicate thread ... ;) ... like Syphonox said we'll keep one as you titled it right ...
Would DNA strands not be too small to see with the naked eye though? ...
I'll knock a GIF up ...

Gem, this is what has me confused. Maybe it's an alien (as in unknown) form of DNA, or part of the rapid building process. We know from Alien that whatever happens, it happens rapidly, as far as maturation/growth. If so, it still doesn't make sense for it to look like a DNA helix instead of whatever it's actually growing into.
The more I think about it (and granted this is only a quick peek we're getting of the shot) it doesn't look right for it to be a microscopic type interior shot...I don't know...

yeah, it looks big to be DNA but it has to be. looking at it you can see lots of textures, and at that size there really wouldn't be :( probably just for the look of it i guess? also they cant be red blood cells, DNA is created within a cell, so they must be the cells organelles?

In case no one did an animated gif of the double helix, here it is:

I'm assuming that it's something that David is seeing in a microscope—likely what's happening to Holloway or someone in a similar predicament. The DNA seems to be being manipulated by some substance present in a live body. The colors don't look healthy. Whatever this is, Martha Stewart would not call it a "good thing."
I assume this is what an infection by the gray goo from the urns or some other kind of "bite" causes.
Poor slob, whoever s/he is...

@Windood
Really? I see exactly the opposite.
Whatever it actually is, it does resemble part of a DNA sequence - but, rather than being destroyed, it looks, to me, to be building itself: partly out of that cloud of that, conspicuous, mineral-looking particles on the left of screen, that it seems to be drawing to itself.
