MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:03 PMUnless it is a totally different creature to the cobralien, the slithering
grey thing we see dashing into someone's suit-sleeve seemingly has no legs.
Most of us may have assumed that snippet of the arm-slitherer immediately follows the cobra arm-grab bit.
Pede is the Latin word for feet or legs is it not? Millipede - multiple legs/feet.
The Hammerpede may be a different and bigger monstrosity altogether - with a hammer head. The Alien has a hammer head of sorts. Will this be a tenuous connection to the morphology of the original?

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:12 PMI had been thinking this myself since the moment I read the word Hammerpede, which immediately made me picture a huge praetorian, skeletal xenomorph creature with long spines..

FREEZE!
Co-AdminMemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:10 PMI agree Zeta, we should be seeing several variety of alien in this movie. I do agree also that the head of the Alien is very hammer like. I hope the pede is super creepie!!!

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:16 PMWell, Ridely Scott said the creature advances through different stages of evolutionary as animals. Perhaps of Centipede is just one of those stages.
And I hope the final stage is truly terrifying and unpleasant.

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:15 PM@ZetaReticuli - " Pede is the Latin word for feet or legs is it not? Millipede - multiple legs/feet. The Hammerpede may be a different and bigger monstrosity altogether - with a hammer head".
Then why would it be called Hammerpede when it has a hammer on its head?... Wouldn't it just be called hammerhead then?
Sorry, but I think the Hammerpede is the Cobra.

You have my sympathy
MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:22 PMIt's an hors-d oeuvre!
Looked like Ford got it in the kisser when it left Milburn, wonder what it's exit strategy is from her?

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:21 PM@Shaw's_sweet_baby Then the creature uses its hammer head to move ¿?

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:23 PMPerhaps the Hammerpede is the creature that bursts out of milburns mouth and into another crewmember(ford maybe?)
I brought this up in the other Hammerpede discussion here are some of the pics

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 12:26 PMI think that whatever he did to Milbur, this creature has changed a bit (the first evolution perhaps?)

MemberOvomorphMay-12-2012 2:14 PMthe title of this discussion thread is a spoiler in itself. Aren't you supposed to hide stuff like this from titles that everyone sees?

MemberDeaconMay-12-2012 4:48 PMMaybe we will find out, i do think that the cobraxeno does not look like something you would call a Hammerpede.
I think there could be creatures in the movie that we have not yet seen.
