suspect that this and some of the happy (cheesey?) discovery moments
featuring Shaw and Holloway holding hands in the cave deliberately belie the audience to the possible horrors to come? If so, that is a genius and deliciously sly move on the makers' part. Things just get flipped over in a sadistic and shocking way after being 'drawn in to the trap'.

MemberOvomorphMay-13-2012 2:29 AMYes, that line somehow harkens back to the typical dialogue found
in sci-fi films of the 50s and seems to add a quirky anachronism to this
film along with the 'Forbidden Planet' spacesuits. But as well as preparing
the audience for a 'thrilling adventure', it may be a sly ruse. Note the way
the 'epic' music darkens and becomes minimal in the trailers once they enter the Temple.......

MemberOvomorphMay-13-2012 8:45 AMThere does seem that there will be a sense of excitement at the adventure ahead (ha ha, see if you can spot it :) ). It reminds me of the feeling in Aliens before the colonial marines get to LV-426. Perhaps a homage from RS to Cameron?
