Youtube, Metacafe and Apple just put up a new clip of the Prometheus ship coming to the planet and landing, it looks great! As CanadaPhil has pointed out on a different thread, the giant lettering on the side is a bit much, I hope he is right that this is billboard is not really in the movie. Other than that, I think the clip is perfect.

They sure took off their seat belts quick, shouldn't they be leaving them on until after they touch down? I guess their disregard for their own safety is something that has to be established in the beginning of the story.

This whole movie has forgotten all the protocols (new planet system scans, let the robots investigate before the organics, don't touch the wildlife, and most of all be very very careful... you dumb idiots... never mind too late.

@Syphonox I think what's been pointed out in those those threads is that some people are querying the [i]size[/i] of the name, not simply why it would be there. The second would be reasonably obvious - the first, not so much. @Ender Agreed - I swear I saw that W, "float", on the bank right... *edit after watching it 3 times: have to say that, even by today's standards, when we are spoilt with this kind of visual quality - this thing looks BEAUTIFUL.

one of the most impressive spaceships, and most beautiful landing sequences, ever to be put on film. This thing is going to set a new bar for what a great sci fi film should be aesthetically...

I didn't realize until I saw this clip that the domes have huge walls around them. The way they are situated, it makes the valley look like an industrial site more than some kind of sacred ground.

Its relieving to see that just in 1 minute part of the movie we see already so many sequences from the trailers . Oh and the movie look BEAUTIFUL

The video on Apple won't go full screen, maybe just on my PC, so the YouTube version is better, especially since you can manually choose the highest resolution.

LOVELY. Idris Elba was talking about Prometheus this morning on good morning america and they showed the same footage. That landing sequence looked so F***in' rad. I just went from 6 to 12 in a second.

The reason that the "PROMETHEUS" lettering looks funny is because the sides of the ship are really LED billboards which advertise the sponsors of the ship. The scene cuts right before it spells out "GEICO."

Looks very edited to me, and badly too - as others have said, I'm sure this is a heavily cut version of what we'll see in the movie. Bad continuity too (no doubt down to the choppy editing) - first Idris Elba's hat is off, then it's on .. then it's off again! I don't think that we're even seeing it all in sequence. This is more of a montage than a full clip ........

I agree, it's heavily edited. And looks beautiful. The atmosphere is not just 21% oxygen, it's 71% Nitrogen and traces of Argon, too. It's very similar to ours (79% nitrogen here and traces of Argon). I wonder if they made it slightly different on purpose or it's a blunder (considering that Holloway says "Just like home"). Can't wait for these 17 days to pass.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Just from watching the clip once it's obvious that the sequence of events is HEAVILY edited. I suspect it was shortened either for time or because there are little bits here and there that they don't want us to see.

Yes, namely they have cut the part when Janek announces that now they can turn their mobiles on, and everybody send texts to announce they landed and the trip was fine.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Yes the clip is obviously edited but at least It's a longer view of the landing, instead of the quick fragments we've seen in the trailers. I'm really looking forward to the full-length scene, hopefully similar to the great landing scene in Alien.

Only thing I don't like are the Naboo engine sounds... AND the poor rendering of the name on the side of the ship. Maybe it's projected from the outermost tip of the engine nacelle... A billion- dollar Lite-Brite?

Haha ... they HAVE already got USCSS PROMETHEUS on the ship ... in BLACK at the front above the call sign registration ... Trouble is it's not really visible ...that's where I would've thought it would go if anywhere ... near the ship's call sign 130748 ... :) ... But now you could argue that it's TOO SMALL ... lol ...

GEM, I think they need to go full tilt now. The ship already has a black and gold striping scheme, so how about a Smokey & the Bandit style retro Pontiac "Fire Chicken" emblem to go on the bow just below the "Fireproof Windscreen".
