shot in real 3d with super cams. My problem earlier was to know if the dvd release was going to be in 3d as well. That would be a bugger, since I don't have a 3d tv nor a blueray reader. Not even a PS3 for that matter.... shame

Encoders are the real magic when it comes to 2d conversion. Loss doesn't happen for the picture when they convert into 2d. Only encoder processed output is on DVD for both so depends on which you get, quality picture is retained in either form.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

I'm steering clear of IMAX, especially the LIEMAX screen near me. It wasn't very good for the Avengers, and is not a "proper" IMAX screen, or experience.
I'm going to probably watch it in 2D or Real 3D first, and then the other after.
I just don't get on with 3D that well

They used the new "RED CAMERA" for this film, which is also being used on Peter's Jackson's the Hobbit, who is also shooting 48FPS, which should be interesting. Prometheus looks crystal clear on the IMAX and the 3D looks better than the Avengers....reason being they used the RED CAMERA for Prometheus, where as the Avengers was not shot with the same equipment.

It was shot ENTIRELY in 3D, meaning that it won't be Clash-Of-The-Titans 3D, but Avatar 3D. I don't like how everyone compares 3D to Avatar, seeing as how Hugo and Transformers 3 had vastly superior 3D. Even though it's R, Prometheus is definitely primed to be a Blockbuster, so if enough people see it in 3D, I hope it can become the new 3D standard
