MemberOvomorphMay 15, 2012918 Views16 RepliesSo we are biting our nails, pacing up and down, buying that awesome LV-223 T-shirt by Mungo (ahem), but what movies can we watch to keep us sane whilst we count the sleeps until Prometheus lands?
I'll start...
ALIEN (but I bet we've all seen this really recently)
Outland
Thing (new and old)
Cargo

CARGO is a German movie, pretty interesting stuff, but PANDORUM is a little better in terms of production value and ideas.

David1-
Why Immortal Beloved? Gary Oldman is great and it as he always is. But why that one?

Hi, Ghaim Overman:
For several reasons, really. I love Beethovens works [7th specially], I like the romantic side that the movie takes and ... Gary Oleman.

Ikari XB-1 is an amazing Russian Sci Fi film. Haven't seen it for a year or so now, and I think it's hard to find... Yet I did see a link somewhere. I'll be looking in to finding a copy of my own soon. :)
I've watched all of the Alien films recently, including only AVP and Resurrection which were outside of the trilogy. Resurrection was fantastic! I loved the integration of "the other" element, though fearing "the other" is also a great interpretation of contact with unknown lifeforms.
Dead Leaves is a great animation from Production IG. A Bonnie and Clyde animation about the power of procreation and cyclical destruction. Very Western and Eastern considering it is so frenetic. Gotta love action!
I also really like Firefly. It gets very addicting and I find myself having to finish a series from beginning to end. This is one of those series. Captivating.
I look forward to checking out some of these recommendations. :D I CANNOT WAIIT for Prometheus! It looks grand. IMAX 3D looks so delicious nomnomnom.

Sorry I'm getting all excited now.
The Descent! Soo good! Relative in that it involves people going below the planets surface and finding some nasties. ;D
Also; looking at Pandorum's trailer (which looks amazing and I'll be watching it tonight thx ya'll) it reminds me of some Resident Evil. I loved the first one, was disgusted with the second, but recently gave the 3rd(Apocalypse) a chance and fell in love all over again.
5th Element? Pretty different in tone, yet still a great sci-fi. yeah.. now I'm getting off topic. :D
