OK, so as far as I can tell, Weyland has an exo-skeleton to assist with his movement when he is in the suit in the loading bay. Perhaps the SJ's suits offer a similar purpose, hence that's why they are much bigger suited as opposed to their usual self. thus explaining the disparity in sizes from what we assume and actually see the SJ as in the recent clips. Maybe this bio-tech in it's most rudimentary form for Weyland plays a part later on?

One thing that gets me with all this technology, even with the Alien spacecraft itself, is that this ship may be an older or newer model than the one in the Movie - Alien. In fact, even the bio-suits that are worn by the SpaceJ's, may be upgraded and look different. Like how we have different makes and models of Jet Aeroplanes and War ships. Just because there's a better model doesn't mean we can't use a perfectly decent older one.
