There's not even a hint of Giger in the new alien design. It's a muppet. And, given the nature of the black goo, I doubt if the creatures have a gender in the sense we understand it.

If it was a female, it would resemble the creature from [i]Species[/i]

John [/i] That would certainly resonate with other themes in the film, and the writers seemed to get off on that type of thing. I reckon they will fill us in in part 2, if only by some boring dialogue between Dave and Shaw.

The film is called Prometheus and even highlights what that means in relation to the ancient myths IE prometheus wanting to share the gift of fire with mortals. Am I alone in thinking that perhaps the original engineer we see is in essence prometheus? sharing his life... his cells and dna to allow for life on earth. Prometheus acted outside of the will of the gods which would also explain why the other engineers wish to see us destroyed

Xenos don't have a king. technically, the only sexed xeno is the facehugger, and its male. and its host is the female (it does take genetic material from the host so they are still a parent). Even the queen isn't really female, she just produces the males... in order to be female she would have to recieve genetic material from another individual to make the eggs. This could be happening, but from what we've seen it isn't. Prometheus adds in extra sexes because each creature has multiple parents. I think that the cobralien and the giant squid are both males and they both inseminate the space jockey, who in this case is the female because he holds the stationary reproductive material. All three contribute genetic material to the xeno chestburster. Who knows whether it will become a queen or just a drone, or maybe something entirely different to what we've seen.
