Nobody knows because the film hasn't come out yet.
But it's highly unlikely given what the director and the writer have said about it.

Yer but they could be playing with our minds wanting us to think that but if it dont explain that it would be bretty annoying

I think weyland in an sj suit will be what was found in alien...
RS just trying to keep us guessing and away from the truth lol

NOOOOO!!!!!!
Not this thread again!! The ship in Prometheus is NOT the derelict on LV-426...IMO lol

We just dont know.....
I would have assumed that the Xeno was created before Prometheus and that it is what killed off most of the Engineers, and that it was taken to LV426 for some reason a long time before Prometheus.....
Ridley did say this movie would not be a direct prequel but would show and explain events of Alien at the end of the Movie, so we could see the above but only in some kind of flash back....
POTENTIAL SPOILERS FROM THE SO CALLED PEOPLE WHO SEEN THE MOVIE

None of the 3 different endings given, link to LV426......
One of them Shaw and Vickers stumble upon what i think they are describing as another Temple afterwards.... and movie Ends...
The other they are chassed by Xenos as they are running away from crashed Derelict or just after..... then movie Ends....
The other Shaw and Vickers overcome Mutated Weyland Engineer, or Engineer, then Vickers is infected so she ask Shaw to kill her, then she gets on the lifeboat and is then found 15 years latter and the Corp then tell her they are on the way back to the System... so a bit of Aliens begining....
The fact we have 3 so called viewings that end all different could mean they are all fake, or not all of them are real.... unless there is multiple endings and Ridley has not yet decided which one to spring upon us..
It would be crafty of him to run a few scenes and put them in the preview screenings with no intention of them being part of the film just to put us off a bit and then when the full showing is shown give us a big suprise?
None of those 3 endings, really covers these questions.
1) What event led up to the Derelict being on LV 426
2) What was the Cargo and how did it get there and maybe explain what it is
3) What happened that caused the Jockey to send out the SOS and become Chest Bursted etc
I think Ridley will answer those 3 at the end of the movie and thus see those screening leaks as all fake.

Okay...here are my thoughts:
1.) It is not unheard of for a filmmaker to purposely mislead the fans by saying "this will or will not occur". They have been so tight lipped about this movie that I will not trust anything anybody says about it until it's released. I love speculating, though! That's the fun part!
2.) All of the various plot leaks seem to agree on one point - Weyland is aboard the Prometheus. I think he's the bald dude running around, IMO. This makes sense to me. At any rate, the only parts that are in dispute are the last 8-11 minutes of the film. This is truly the gold RS is trying to keep hidden. This is why many of the leaks make sense up until the very end, and then you're like, huh?
3.) It is not uncommon for filmmakers to film more than one ending, or show an advanced/test screening minus the ending of the film. I work for Century Theaters in California, and we host test screenings all the time (many of which are missing the last 20-30 minutes of the movie).
These are just my thoughts...

@azalard I trust RS. Not Lindelof though. The things theyve said that overlap-->are solid imo. The things that Lindelof has mostly been saying on his own-->worth less than instant ramen.
@BigDave
I think those are a lot of the questions that were addressed in the original Spaihts draft. I wonder if they're still in those last 8 mins.
Either way, I don't think they are the questions RS is particularly interested in.
<--Trying to keep an open mind to what RS is interested in. And hopefully at the end of that I'm not left thinking '...I understand the meaning of the origin of life now and the idea of a complicated creation-creator relationship...but what about the damn xenos?!?'

Would make sence to screen a movie and take away say 20-30 mins of the most important footage and maybe replace it with 10-15 min of stuff to throw people off the sent...
I dont think Ridley would be so silly as to say the last 8 mins will tie in to Alien and we would see the explanation for Alien and leave Satisfied...
To then make the ending contain nothing of the sort.... and just been playing us all along...
If it was all done by Lindelof though i would not be suprised if he would do that, as i think he dont have a clue really and would not respect the Franchise or its fanbase...
Another thing is i dont think Ridley would want to piss all over the Xeno that became what it did from Aliens to Alien 3
You see like it or not i would say that 2/3rds of the public would have a interest in seeing this movie because they watched the Alien Franchise and are Sci Fi fans with half of them being real Fanboys of Alien/s etc....
If Ridley released this as a stand alone movie that never had Weyland in it, never had the Jockey, the Derelict and was basically just a rehash of say Moutains of Madness and not set in the Alien universe in the slightest...
I dont think that the scope for potential viewers would be so huge.
And regardless the other general public who would not normally be really into Sci Fi or even know much about Alien, are a market that would be a risk to aim for getting into see this movie at the expence of upsetting hardcore Sci Fi and Alien fans...
Thats why i feel we would be in good hands regarding the link to Alien, i dont think it would be massive but then 8 mins can fit a lot in.... surfice to say a showing of a Derelict with Eggs on, having to make a landing on LV 426 and explain why it has done so and the purpose of the Eggs would be more than enough of a explanation without having to go to details...
In Alien we never knew much about why Ash was created, just we knew he was a Andriod created by Weyland Industries... Thus Ridley only has to cover the above and as far as the Xeno goes just as to say that it was a experiment gone wrong, or a weapon created by the Jockeys and thats it.
We dont need any details of how it was created, we dont need to see it created etc etc...

I agree with BigDave, though Lindelof did come out and say that die hard Alien fans would not be disappointed with the ending to Prometheus.

@BigDave
I agree. To be honest i think a very vague explanation will suffice as for as drawing the link between the events of this film and Alien. The link does not have to be necessarily a distinct one. The introduction of the engineer race alone stands as a base. From the trailers we see that at some point the telescope chair gun or whatever the original creature was in from alien will be explained. I think there are only a couple of real independent questions folks need. We can let our imagination do the rest.
For me the questions i need answered are....what was the purpose of the design of the xeno (if their creation was intentional)...and if these were biological weapons why wasnt proper precautions taken to protect themselves (engineer) from them.....was it sabotage or how did the engineer get infected? And the obvious if these are weapons who were they intended to be used on .....us another alien species....cause if they are the engineers of life why would they have to bomb their own creations....if they are the creators....
