the could be to reasons for that dust storm it could be the derlict taken off which make the dust storm or it could be a dust storm which makes the atmosphere which in the lv 426 so the planet could be renamed from lv 223 to lv 426 coz RS did say lv 426 is just a stone throw away so wot could this possibly mean? or this could of happen on lv 426 at the wnd of the movie but we will have to wait and c see till 1st june

I just don't think it is believable or possible for there to be as many as two reasons, that is far too many and crazy - even for Science Fiction.

Dust storms are quite possible in the regions where there are deserts. So i am not surprised about them either way.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

Could be everything old is new again. Dust storms were prominent in the original Dan O'Bannon Alien script.

I dont think is natural ...it arrive unexpected and exactly from the direction of the Temple ( exactly ) ... so there must be a reason .

Takka, your input here is as profound and enlightening as always. Well done. As boring as it may seem, it could just be weather. We can see in the landing shots that the planetoid has an active atmosphere. I wouldn't look too deep for meaning here: it may just be bad luck. As history often shows, bad luck is very often the only difference between a crisis and an all-out disaster. The storm could be just that, and I wouldn't fault Ridley for it at all. Shit happens in real life.
