When I look back on right before the Star Wars prequels, i think the anticipation of what it might be was a thousand times better than how it actually turned out. You should savour these next few months and enjoy your imagination running wild! why do you have to wait so long?

Jesus Kane August? Where do you live?
I have to admit I didnt like the last viral at all, and I think all of them are over stylised and over acted.
I suspect this is just the nature of viral advertising though and Im hoping the movie will have a much muted atmosphere.

yeah, august..that suxx, germany here..
virals, as I´m in principle quite picky what personal infos I share, I´m surprised how easily people seem to give that away for FOX ?? I mean, they´re nothing different from than any other major company like Microsoft,Google,Twitter etc..its pure moneymaking and sniffing..( btw, Fox television---9/11 anyone?? ) for project prometheus they like u to download/install IE, use your personal Twitter/ FB account..nothing new here..

you are totally right about making you install an internet explorer, that made me not want to continue with their advertisement.

EnderMay 17, 2012
Yeah that big Microsoft advert is shameless
"Weyland Industries recommends Internet Explorer" I understand completely how that pisses you off.
I wont let it affect my movie enjoyment though!!

Maybe they should promote Social Justice or Wealth Redistribution instead of capitalistic ventures that provide for jobs and opportunity for all. It's so disheartening to see successful companies and people converge to self promote products that help fund artistic expression.

I don't mind Product Placement, just so long as it's not over done. Remember that the studio, in this case FOX, only give the filmmakers a set amount of money, if the production needs/wants more product placement is a viable option for extra funds. That said I wouldn't mind a bit of humor sometimes...
Alien - Alka Seltzer
The Fly - Fly Spray
Fast and Furious - Car Insurance
...You get the point...

I think they are trying to get the Fanboys interested and maybe get soem marketing out for the none Fanboys...
I been to watch 2 movies recently and they had Prometheus trailers and even my friend never knew what the movie was even though i kept mentioning it to her to go and see when it comes out and said it depends if she likes Sci Fi and the Alien movies.
The Cinema was not packed about 15 for one movie and about 25 for the other and really no other people seemed to know what the movie was or hear about it.
These are the general puplic who are not so aware of such a movie, yet they recognised a number of other movie trailers inc the Snow White one with Charlize Theron but then never seemed to even notice she was in Prometheus trailer aswell.
This is where Ridley has to be carefull, because we have this puplic who may struggle to go see the movie unless it starts getting good reviews from Sci Fi fans.... as for the Sci Fi fans in general it may work for them, but he has to be carefull of both Alien fans and Blade Runner ones, because as this movie is set in Aliens universe and features a Jockey/Engineer, Weyland Ind and Derelict ship.... if he goes and pisses up on the ideas of Alien Franchise and/or he give no link or explanation to the events of Alien even if they are vague.
Then he could upset and turn Alien fans off, and some may then not be overly excited of the prospect of a Blade Runner sequel/prequel. In case he disapoints in that also...
From his comments and the musical score i think we are in good hands though.

overall i dont have a problem at all with the idea that they are putting alot of time and effort into the promotional, viral things. its fun. this is a MOVIE. its very exciting to alot of us, but its still a MOVIE, and these guys love what they do, and they are making this thing very deep for us.
the int Ex thing i dont know about, the second i realized i couldnt upload it on my gov computer i just moved on. its definately stupid, but big deal.
overall its been pretty cool. would it have been just as cool in a different way if the movie just snuck up on us and we all we had was "a" trailer to go by, yeah. but there would probably be no prometheus site like this, or at least it would be quite a bore.
if we have to put up with, or overlook some product placement to get the rest i dont mind.

Kind of hard to install IE on a Mac or Linux machine so I had to boot up an old XP VM to try those games on the site. They're quite silly, don't bother. (IMHO of course)

The IE requirement is pretty comically lame, but at least Shaw isn't wearing Reeboks.
