Hologram SJ Connection

Yes, I agree one-hundred percent! RS has already said, as has Lindelof, that this film will NOT directly lead into alien. Sir Riddles has said that the derelict has been on LV 426 for at least 100, 000 years, so we're not going to see the Prometheus crew personally meet that particular SJ. He's long dead by the time of Prometheus, the eggs are already there. What we will probably see in the hologram is, as you have said, what led up to the derelict landing on LV 426. Having the connection being as explicit as many people seem to think it would be (i.e. ending the film with the creation of the xenomorph eggs and the landing of the derelict on LV 426) is solely the province of hack directors such as Paul W S Anderson, or the Strausetards. It would ruin the film, too, since we'd already know how it ends!

There are alot of wild theories as to the connection to Alien, this just seems more subtle and more RS's style.

That could finally end all the "It's the derelict/It isn't the derelict" debate... Personaly, I think it's not, and your statements seem to point in that direction :)

Theres an article that says something to that effect. I believe he was asked ab how Prometheus came to be and he was explaining the questions Alien brought to mind and was commenting on how the sj ship got there and its age. I dont have the link. Im sure someone does tho.

I would expect him to make some connection he did say he would..... But seems the connections for sure are... Space Jockeys who they are/was Derelict class space craft and there potetial purpose. We will see evidence of Alien DNA and understand potentially the process that the Engineers could create a Organism like the Xeno, without seeing how the Xeno was created. Now its weither or not the Hologram/Ghost Engineer scene would explain anything, from what i gather it will show us things... but not explain... Alien showed us a crash/landed ship that contained a dead pilot and a cargo of Eggs... we found out what the Eggs was.... but never the rest.... The logical assumption was this pilot either created them, or found them somewhere and was in the process to take them some place but looks like one escaped and got the pilot and caused him to have to land on LV 426 And Ridley has said as such, plus also that the Pilot was a Space suit.... he has never said how the Eggs got there, why and where it was going. And i think the Hologram scene will be simular, from it will can gauge that something went wrong, combine that with only one Engineer alive and the dead boddies... then see the kind of stuff that this planet has on it in terms of Organisms and potentially uses for those Urns and conclude that yes those Engineers had one of their experiments go VERY WRONG! it would then be up to us to assume what took place, and if it linked to Alien... It will not be explained that it is connected, and it may not be connected... There will be a number of such things in this movie, and i think we wont find out if the Saucer is the Engineers and where it went or is now and if it could be some other races... Like the Derelict in Alien it will be one of Prometheus many Mystreys..

Oh the most interesting part is this event seems to not be like a normal Hologram, it some how is interactive. Its not a case of a projection like how we can make some Holograms. David was able to grab the planet Earth in the Star Map etc. Also when the Ghost Engineers run past him, there is some kind of pysical pressence much like a Ghost walking over you...

I think 100.000 years is a bit far fetched..biological eggs in stasis for such a time..hmmm

@KingMe - Great thoughts. Too many people are looking for a big connection to Alien. I think it will be a more at glance/ a quick shot/ just something very simple that would sum up how it links. But gets you sitting back in your seat and say "Awhhhhhh thats how" and then since Alien is a such a masterpiece the whole story opens up by the crew responding to a distress signal! Ta Da! Well maybe ha!
