MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:27 PMIf you traced the signal from its point of origin from within the Derilict Chair transmitter and drew a SUPER ACURATE trace out from the ship and followed it out into deep of space where would it ultimately end up at?
The Nostromo just happened to cross paths with it, I would think any way. Where, I wonder, was the Space Jockey actually aiming the Chair 'Cannon/Telescopic Communicator at in the first place? Does that have any significance to the plot of the up coming Prometheus film?
I'm interested in the possible significance of this in relation to the up-coming events about to be seen in Prometheus...

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:45 PMYes hello Abordoli! Hope your o.k. Yes I would really want to know this and it may have potential crittical an future bearing of how the franchise may unfold succesively, you know!
Could he in fact be warning his people away yet letting them know "I'm here!" maybe that is what he was doing....

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:34 PMThis is one of the most unique posts I have seen here on this site. Maybe we need to send in CSI-Thedus....
At one time it might have been pointing to LV-223, but after a million years of inter-stellar drift, I'm sure it no longer points there. We'd need to set up stellar-cartography program like that had in the first Star Trek: The Next Generation movie to wind back time and confirm.

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:48 PMHi there:
I don't think he was pointing it. He might just had a chestburster episode mid-flight and the Derelict hit the planet and there it stays.
That's my theory at least. Kudos

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:49 PMWirrn thats why I put 'Canon/Telescopic Communicator' in quotes as we do not know exactly what function it serves whether multiple or otherwise but thats why I obviously put it in quotation marks, didn't you get that instinctively the first time?

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:52 PMThis question is not properly thought through like many postings here. You also have to ask at what time was he using the instrument, because the planet moves (orbits) and what may have been looked at also moves, the instrstument is also frozen and does not have a clock drive (look that one up) continuing to move (align) it. Wish people would think more about what they post. Some of this stuff is such as waste of time. I am about ready to drop the site, allow the staff does a good job.

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:53 PMYes thats true also David.
I'm wondering if he was suffering pangs in his chest, decided to settle the craft down first and awaited what ever fate he knew awaited him...

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:57 PMI'm conceed some of your reasoning where as at the same time Enceladus your are curt in your tone and trying to be unduley "Smart". I'm not certain I like the intent of your tone towards me... Why don't you go and talk to another individual thread then if you are not pleased with mine...
Part of your logic is dualy noted though... o.k.

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 3:58 PMIn any case it was an interesting thing for "him" (SpJ) to think about if the orbits were going to be taken into account and all of that too...

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 4:46 PMSure Wirrn! Hey good spot upon your part! Your very observant, I'm going to be checking all of my typing now! I type fast and you sometimes think you have typed properly but in reading back you spot things... ha! lol! see you later!

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 6:04 PMI'm not so sure the beacon was pointing any where specific, it was a warning an I am sure most warnings are issued in a broad spectrum wave as opposed to a direct line a sight signal meant for someone specific. I am sure the "cannon" was another case in its own being...

MemberOvomorphMay-20-2012 6:09 PMWe know now definitively that the signal was NOT a warning ! It was a message back to his home world that his mission had been compromised.

MemberOvomorphMay-21-2012 4:45 PMIts not a cannon, its a machine for implanting the embryos. Its aimed at his face, not the other way around.
