(POSSIBLE SPOILERS) Do you all think they would have revealed this much of the film if we (this board, others like it) weren't all so freakishly devoted to it? ***POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW**** People have been complaining/ mentioning all of the potential huge spoilers we've been shown (engineers onboard Prometheus, shaw adult squid, Milburns mouthsnake etc) .... ***END SPOILERS**** Do you think they're just taking us further down the rabbit hole because we're all basically asking for it? I'm curious, if anticipation for Prometheus was just like any normal film (where ppl dont dissect trailers, etc) do you think that Fox/Ridley/Advert Campaign would still be revealing this much? They keep showing us more and more and more ...

this is a bit of a tricky subject while some "spoilers" are greatly appreciated, revealing too much like i feel they have in the trailers is disappointing at the same time, i am responsible for investigating the spoilers. wish they'd have kept me more in the dark, but it's far too late for that

I think what they're showing in the trailers isn't even a third of what this film is about. I really doubt Ridley would have so much secrecy behind this film to have it all shown through out trailers and such.

They are feeding us catnip and we are responding accordingly. But its kind of fun.

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the origins featurette, I thought hearing Ridley say " the surprise is in the story"............so even if it is the case that we have seen glimpses of most of the key scenes, we do not have an idea of how the actual plot develops. Remember in the alien original trailer................ we can see quick shots of: the derelict getting into the egg chamber facehugger jumping at kane ash getting nuts chestburster scene alien attacking Lambert and Parker I know it is quite a difference with todays trailers in general...........but remember that trailers might be misleading.

@ambrosiah i completely agree. RS knows how to deliver what the ppl want and with all the secrecy, NO WAY he spoils the movie w/ the trailers.

We've seen TOO much, we have snooped too far, we have truly spoiled the Prometheus experience. I know it's just a movie, but it still doesn't detract from the fact that a lot of surprises have been revealed. When finally get around to seeing the whole thing, there will be many scenes we wont really react to. Just a simple "oh that's what that bit is about", will be our response. Damn you curiosity! lol

@These - we're getting thrown off course, man. We're all running our faces (perfectly so) for this, and so we're reading into what we've been given so far. In any case, pretty sure this flick is gonna come straight out and either validate or decimate what we think will happen. Cold comfort? I'm going to bed tonight knowing 18 becomes 17, but you make an excellent point - have we discovered more than we wanted? Not nearly enough - this isn't a conventional SummerPopCornFlick (TM Pending) - but it caters to this following we have here on the board. They gave us some spoils, but we still have the reveal. We won't be bummed.!

it looks like shaw is reaching for something (axe?) at the end of the tentacle clip. the soundtrack has a tune called "hello mommy," which makes me think she delivers an axe-heavy after-the-fact abortion on her tentacle baby.

MemberOvomorphMay-21-2012 2:13 AM
I'm at a loss to explain the attraction to Shaw I find her quite plain Jane looking to tell ya the truth and everyone including Ridley keeps saying how beautiful she is, I guess we men have Low standards these days!!! LOL...she does absolutely nothing for me! Vickers, now that's a whole other ball game!!!

The Internet is our own worst enemy. Remeber the days when the only time you saw a trailer was in the cinema and maybe a TV spot if you were lucky? Thinking about it, it must put the fear of god into movie Directors knowing that we now have the ability to dissect every frame of a trailer, time stretch it and discuss with like minded people. Personally, I think we have seen some major spoilers, but that doesn't worry me... Look at the CGI, the lighting, the sets, the mood... It all looks pretty amazing so don't let a few spoilers put you off, I'm confident it'll be a great movie.

MemberOvomorphMay-21-2012 4:39 AM
@Spartacus Charlize Theron... The only woman I've seen in years that makes me wish I was straight ; ) "Hey, Charlize, how do you get into that skin tight space suit" "Well, you can start by buying me a drink"

@Spartacus; What??! Noomi is gorgeous! Her bone structure is amazing! Charleze is pretty but in a generic Barbie-like way. Noomi looks so exotic, with high cheekbones and a feline grace. I wish I looked like her. O_O

And this is on the spoiler board why?

^^^ Because the OP's post contains spoilers.

@Svanya - Here here! Noomi is gorgeous! No offence to Charlize, she's attractive and alluring enough, but there are way too many generic blondes in films, it's as if Vickers and Ford are clones! ;-)

I feel like I've seen to much. But its my fault for looking I guess! But why are they showing so much?! And where did those tentacle images come from? Was it an official source/TV Spot? I'm surprised we've had so much of this already.

Grindolf

MemberOvomorphMay-21-2012 9:10 AM
@Sparticus I disagree, you cant say people have low standards its about taste people like different things, I think both Theron and Rapice are beautifull women. Now who has the more "sexy" body, fine maybe Ill say therone but rapice has an awesome ass. Also we will have no idea how many Spoilers there are untill we have seen the movie so stop fucking crying about it untill after the movie

BigDave

MemberDeaconMay-21-2012 9:25 AM
I would consider anything that shows parts of the plot from the Trailers to not be spoilers.... only stuff from the TV Spots... If you never came on here and never saw the TV Spots then i think you would be in the dark to many things.... The TV Spots have given away too much, especially if you freeze frame etc..

Never the less I respect your opinions and I understand the whole high cheeckbone classic feature thingy !!! As a Man I must say the first thing to attract me is looks....and sex appeal, without those things the lady's got no chance...and if the woman doesn't have any smarts, forget it immediately... she's toast before date 1 is done. I will never ever even consider Rapace to be in the same league as Theron but that' just personal taste...WOMEN IN GENERAL ARE MORE BEAUTIFUL COMPARED TO MEN if you ask me... and who's to say who's taste is more correct than anyone else's right...beauty is in the eye of the behlolder and i must admit i have met some women whom i was not attracted to at all at first but after sitting down with them and talking to them and getting to know them I could get up from that same table head over heels in Love!!! i need both to find a woman "sexy", She's gotta be smart too not just beautiful!!! HERE HAVE A PRESENT FROM ME...IF NOTHING ELSE...RAPACE IS AN INCREDI0BLY GIFTED ACTRESS AND LOOKS AS GREAT AS A "TAXI DRIVER" COULD EVER LOOK!!! Bobby De Niro and her would make a perfect team...lol.

Blond definitely has nothing to do with it... She was brunette in Aeon Flux, and still looked damned hot!!! Anyway, enough... Back on topic I presume Fox knows what they are doing, fast and clever editing has misled many of us from the start, but things are now coming together for the launch Friday week, but I fear they may just go too far. It's a human trait to be curious and click that spoiler thread, but we all know what happened to kittykins.
