It's a very small observation but look at those mixing-desk type sliders in the first still, one to the left of the orb and the other behind it. In the second shot they have disappeared so assuming they haven't been added post-production, what do they do ? are they significant ? I know what you mean, and I always presumed they might be holographic projectors that pop up, when required. I'm also starting to think that maybe the SJ is Jean Michel Jarre (I bet nobody gets that) ;)

I too had noticed that they disappear. We don't know how much time passes between these two scenes, but it could be that those items move when the chair raises, or maybe they are removed for other reasons yet unknown.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

It seems they're still there, but just not illuminated in the 2nd scene. Am I looking at the right thing?

They are for enhancing the bass on the Space Disk Jockey sound system.

That whole platform seems capable of morphing and transforming. Seems a whole lot more sophisticated then the 1 million year plus old derelict on LV-426 (like comparing a modern 2013 fully loaded car to the Fred Flinstones' foot started car).

It's essentially the space jockey disco... The big round area is the dance floor. The seat is for the DJ and master of ceremonies. ;-)

Like, the Engineers head only just comes above the bottom of the pilot seat. I dont remember Kane or Dallas climbing on the actual seat to look at the hole in the biosuit from above it... Issues with scale?
