Oh my God Bromethians what are some of you like ? I understand this is a discussion forum and we are free to express our opinions but really, picking it apart and griping about "character development" is just pretentious nonsence. I saw it last night in glorious 3D and allowed the whole thing to wash over me, for once in my life I actually stepped foot into a real spaceship in deep space...an accomplishment in itself. The cinemaphotography was simply stunning and I found myself mouthing "wow" at every breathtaking twist and turn. This combined with the throbbing soundtrack as the Prometheus crew disembarked had my heart pumping with excitement and trepidation, isn't this what cinema is all about ?. Like many of us I watched far too many trailers but it did not spoil the experience for me, I think if some of you had just walking in with a clear mind, not knowing anything about it you would accept it as the masterpiece it truly is. I don't know which film some of you are talking about but that roller-coaster ride I saw literally blew me away. Tickets booked at IMAX for tomorrow night !

after seeing it at the premiere and again twelve hours later (with much thought over the nights) i find it to be bloody brilliant. the IMAX 3d viewing was absolutely spectacular for starters, the visuals blew me away. i cannot fault any of the film and i'm glad it wasn't at all a direct prequel to alien or in any sense of the word to do with it. massively enjoyed and i'm glad, Spacejockstrap you enjoyed it also. thumbs up!

It was great movie. Thw biggest problem people have its it didn't use their script: which I'm guessing everyone so carefully thought out and submitted to Sir Ridley.

there is more yays than nays. But sci fi always cops rubbish from non believers. Sci fi on the big screen is always good, even B grade stuff. Im with the yay sayers. even though i have not seen it yet. I'm on a sci fi bender at the moment, and there is heaps of rubbish out there. Watching paul verhoeven and john carpenter movies at the mo and really really bad but in a good way. just turn your brain off and enjoy it.

I think all the hating is because everyone went in expecting Alien and it was a bit different. Ridley Scott said repeatedly that it WASN'T an Alien prequel, so I really don't feel they have a leg to stand on...
