Were the original Xenos a weapon sent to LV426? Rather than an inhabiting race?

What if another race got there first?
But rather than go there themselves, they sent the Xeno as we know it now in some incarnation to intercept the Juggernaught on LV426 to attack the engineers before they could see out their terraforming 'routine' as they saw it as a hostile threat?
The derelict became an incubator, and the facehugger egg hatched once it was triggered off by Kane being infront of it, as it is understood is the catalyst for their 'birth'

MemberOvomorphMay-23-2012 7:05 AMHmm..i dont know if your referring to something in Prometheus or alien..ive purposely avoided anything about Prometheus so i can see it fresh without spoilers. I know all about alien though...in the original interviews with ridley scott and the script writers (shusset/obannon), they talk about the space jockey at length,,,,according to them the space jockey was the pilot of the croissant shaped ship (found by the crew of the Nostromo) who for one reason or another landed on the planetoid purposefully (the ship had clearly not crashed..it was in good condition). The ship carried biological weapons in the form of the face huggers,,,their purpose and the conflict for which they were needed was not made clear...an accident occured...some of the biological weapons (facehuggers) escaped and killed the crew...being the only one left and knowing he was impregnated, the space jockey was able to send out one last message (an acoustical beacon repeating a warning message at intervals of 12 seconds), a warning not to come near the infested ship... he was then killed by the chest burster inside him as he sat at the console.
Who knows..they might have invented some new details for the prometheus movie but what i just described was what the makers of Alien said in interviews recorded 30 years ago.

MemberOvomorphMay-23-2012 9:31 PMIt's a very interesting idea to be sure, but I have to agree with gl3nnium, the xenos were always originally conceived as having arrived with the derelict onto LV-426 (as weapons cargo). Originally though, they were located in a separate pyramid structure where sacrifices apparently took place. I think (don't quote me) the idea was that the xenos were indigenous, as were another race that was using them in these sacrificial, Mayan-type rituals.

MemberOvomorphMay-27-2012 3:49 AMYup..agreed..ive read the original 'star beast' script...the story changed after various re-writes but yes there was a derelict with a space jockey but the infection happened when they visited the mysterious pyramid...I think it was 'broussard' who was the unlucky crew member (who would become 'Kane' in the final draft)...ive seem a few interiviews with the writers. They wrote a great original script but honesty the men themselves (shusset and obannon) just came across as whiney little bitches pissing and moaning about this and that..complaining about the hollywood system etc whereas Ridley Scott always comes across as a fascinating man and an honest no hassels sort of a bloke.

MemberOvomorphMay-30-2012 5:56 PMI think that it's generally accepted that the Alien is a genetically engineered bioweapon. I would DREAD to know how dangerous a place would be for a creature to develop acid blood by evolution!
Now, them NOT being invented by the engineers would be an intriguing concept, why are the eggs there? POWs? Customs impound? Arms limitation treaty disposal? Captured munitions being brought back for study?
