Are the facehuggers our "upgrade"

As long as we're talking in the order of a million years ago, then I find this agreeable.

@ abordoli: I did read a plot involving wormholes and time travel somewhere a few months ago. ..But, I'm pretty sure it was fake.

They've never introduced time travel into this universe before, so I hope they don't even try....now. Besides, the derelict on LV-426 is a much, much older version of a juggernaut than the one with the "new-car-smell" that we see on LV-223.

I think I may be on to something: The "cobra" and what manifests from it is the eagle that eats at the Space Jocky's liver, and the face hugger is ours... The Blue guy is a hot dna mess and is someone or something that is playing God. Since we are made in "his image" we suffer the same consequences.

Face huggers show up in other movies,,'Octopussy' has a scene with a 'facehugger' wiping out a bad guy. Maybe there have been other facehuggers,in natural history that have been left as 'clues' to our existence in popular media. I am just saying that the History of the human race is popping up in other stories/media..that sort of ees if an alert/intellegent person can see the clues..to our past....and future..
