Tomatometer - 87%
p.s.: I really don't like those pseudo-critics.

Well most of the movie critics sites have old age movie watchers. I think they should retire from their critic pods and appreciate the CGI in the new sci-fi movies. I do agree with their critics regarding acting in sci-fi movie but they overdo it when they critic other parts of movie.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

If it is amazing, groundbreaking, but not too thought provoking with only the veneer of depth and intelligence (like Inception) that makes it accessible to anyone: 90%
If it is amazing, groundbreaking, and truly thought provoking on a deep intellectual level (Like Blade Runner): 73%
If it is alright but nothing too special with good scares and great special effects: 62%
If it is downright rubbish that is overly complicated but without any real depth whatsoever and with too many moving parts (that serve no purpose) for the general audiences to appreciate: 24%

I hated their criticism for "THE DIVIDE"

David 1 : I'm with you on this one....
Alien got 96%
For a bit of fun 95%, can we have a large bag of tomatoes off the staff for the winner?

That's a hard call, I wouldn't be able to answer.
To me Rotten Tomatoes holds an entertainment value that goes beyond film criticism. Have you ever read the replies to the top critics who gave a negative vote to Alien?
I am really curious about what will be Roger Ebert's critique. Usually I don't bother about "professional" critics, but in Ebert's case I appreciate his work and attitude, and I usually agree with him.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Richard Corliss I think it was from Time Magazine originally knocked the hell out of it and then when the Quadrilogy DVD pkg. was released he called it perhaps the "Best SCi-Fi Horror film ever made"! That pretty much sums up how I feel about critics.

@ Drakeequation That's a very good analysis... if your 73% prediction is true that percentage will increase with time, in the same way Blade Runner gained the favor of critics with the pass of time.. It will also have a higher score than its percentage, because the good reviews will boost that score probably over 8.
If the 90% scenario is true, I don't think the movie will considered a classic and the actual score will be just over 7.
I don't really see how Prometheus could end up with a 24% score. 62% doesn't sound right to me either. If the critics doesn't know what to make of the movie, I think it would end up getting a score similar to Aronofsky's "The Fountain", around the 50%

i'm gonna say...on the Tomatometer it gets a 91% Rating from the critics and that on the audience rating...97% Like It !

screw the critics out there ,,most of them know Jack &^^%$,,
WE ARE THE CRITICS ,,,,,i give it a full thumbs up
95 rating ,,,,,,99% fans will love it so much ,,,they/we,,, will see it twice

Rotten Tomatoes cannot be taken seriously...they are a bunch of douchebags...they gave toy story 3 99% and constantly overrate mediocre movies with 90%+ because they are arty
I predict 80%

Like many of you, I find that most critics are full of shit. But, that being said, for the Tomatometer, I'll wager that Prometheus gets a high 80's from the critics, and a mid 90's from the audience. 87% and 95% to be exact.
I think overall the film will get a good reception across the board, maybe even earn "classic" status eventually. We shall see...
